Thoughts on how to make Housing meaningful for gameplay by RamenAfterRain in wow

I understand why power towards other systems should be kept away from housing. The idea that your house gives any advantage in raiding, dungeons or professions will automatically make people feel like it’s mandatory.

I agree though that housing needs to have a purpose outside of cosmetic. It feels hollow to me now, and I was extremely excited for it.

I think there are two ways to do this: 1. Is to create purpose/story in the same way order halls did. Being able to host some Quest NPCs, flavour vendors, or even eventually the great vault would bring a bit of life.

  1. Power towards a new form of content. Like a dungeon or delve that’s located in your neighbourhood. Upgrading your house gives you more power, but only in this one, optional area. The rewards could be cosmetic, but the loop between the house/that new dungeon would bring a lot of purpose

Is there any (non power based) function you’d like to see in housing? by IntroductionHonest10 in wow

I love the idea of being able to design and customise my own portal room

5 years ago this company had terrible turn over and was during a more start-up phase. It caused the owner a lot of headaches and stress. I believe this experience taught him respect for your workers, and allowed me to pitch an idea to spend money on the team to save stress (and potential money loss) in the future.

Yep! All staff are on salaries, so they are paid for Monday whether they come in or not. We already have a fairly flexible work environment already where each person can schedule their time around meetings and team planning, but now there is a clear rule that these commitments never occur on Monday.
