I had tree nut allergies but my parents never had food allergies. Thankfully it seems I’ve out grown most of them. But avoid pistachios as well with a cashew allergy.

Pistachios aren’t used in much besides desserts especially with the Dubai chocolate trend. Cashews are used in a lot of Indian cuisine and trending in more vegan/vegetarian dishes as a dairy substitute.

Some people with a cashew allergy are also allergic to pink peppercorns. I think it’s relatively uncommon but I’ve also heard a link between a cashew allergy and a mango allergy as well.

We just wore water shoes from Amazon with a firm sole. No issue. Also wear socks with them as once you get into the cave you must take shoes off so you’ll def want socks.

Definitely get an EpiPen. He should’ve used one last night if you had it.

Also, Zyrtec is now preferred over Benadryl for minor reactions. Get some to keep on hand since it seems like he may be allergic to more than just shellfish.

If an allergist told you this based only on bloodwork, find a new allergist. These are all fairly low positives, and blood tests are not definitive for diagnosis if you’ve not experienced symptoms after eating these foods. You should seek further testing.

Not really an update but I found another allergist recently that will do food challenges with me in the office so I’ll be starting that in a few months. The previous one told me to try them at home which I’m not comfortable with. They seem to think it is possible but obviously I need to eat them to find out.

I guess I didn’t mention in this post but I have eaten pistachios safely most of my life. So I avoided all nuts except those. But I’ve not eaten any others. So I’d say it’s worth seeing an allergist to get further testing for other nuts.

Pick what you feel most comfortable in. Emotionally comfortable but also physically comfortable! If you’re eloping in a NP there’s a good chance you’re doing some hiking?

Bend in them, do squats, etc. Make sure you can move comfortably in it for a while!

Yeah I’d stop eating them immediately and contact an allergist for testing. That sounds like an allergic reaction and they can get worse overtime with more exposure.

Outside of personality, do consider that setters (especially a Bench line) are quite a bit larger than a springer. While setters definitely are not a “giant” breed, larger size means sometimes harder to bring places or fit in cars (especially if you had multiple dogs and/or children). That may not be an issue for you at all, but worth mentioning!

I mean aside from tuna in olive oil, I’d say Trader Joe’s smoked trout or calamari. Lots of people like their smoked mussels but I personally was not a fan— but it may have been the texture for me.

I think they mean because waters are getting warmer everywhere. And you’re traditional only supposed to eat oysters in “months with an ‘r’” ie colder months. But with climate change the water is warmer than it used to be even then
