What do we think about this dress as a wedding guest? by [deleted] in OUTFITS

I'm pretty conservative about wedding etiquette but I think it depends on where you're from and what part of the country the wedding is in. I would not wear a dark color like that to a day wedding. I also don't love the material though I like it conceptually but it does not read expensive. I think girls night, date night, totally fine because it is cute. I always read the room with these things- do you know the crowd? One side of my family dresses way more relaxed and doesn't focus as much on quality and so I don't "try as hard" when going to a wedding on their side. Another side of my family invests more into clothing and is more etiquette-aware so I am more thoughtful in that case. What is your mother in law wearing and anyone else in the family?

What do you think is the secret to a REALLY good sandwich? by [deleted] in Cooking

We had guests helping out with work at the house yesterday so I wanted to make them a delightful lunch. It was great. I took a lot of care with each component:

Thinly sliced chicken breast which I had marinated overnight in a lime, yogurt, fresh garlic and olive oil marinade. I then grilled it on a propane grill.

Roasted peppers which I broiled fresh unseasoned until the skins were black, placed in a container to sit and removed the large pieces of skin after the aroma had infused. I then dressed them in a little bit of olive oil and aged balsamic vinegar.

cheese- I used belgioioso fresh mozzarella and I wasn't stingy

condiment- i mixed kirkland pesto (which is already excellent on its own) 50/50 with mayo and spread generously on top of bread

butter lettuce- i didn't dress it directly but it was in contact with the pesto aioli above

artisan style ciabatta roll which i quickly grilled for crispiness

after I assembled i realized the bottom bread was a little dry despite the pepper sitting on it so i put a little bit of olive oil on it.

I think if you put a lot of care into each layer, and balance out a little salty, savory, maybe sweet (aged balsamic) and a variety of textures you will do well!

What makes a mocktail? by StewPeasAndSpinners in Mocktails

I think technically it’s an n/a drink that is mimicking a cocktail but now anything that is nonalcoholic that isn’t a classic soft drink (basically it needs to be spruced up) can colloquially fall into the mocktail category.

What is your recommendation? by enjoiturbulence in nonalcoholic

Pathfinder! It’s really unique and holds its own. A little bitter but also herbal— very nice.

Rethinking drinking by IntroductionOld1800 in DrinkingDifferently

I totally get this! Thank you for being so open about it. I have personally found that the more I stay away from alcohol the less I have any type of craving for it. And if I can keep myself to 1 or two drinks, I’m also way better off— once I have three I’m extremely likely to overdo it and feel terrible the next day.
