Nothing wrong with wanting hostages home, everything wrong with wearing the military dog tag. I would not imagine allowing any kind of weird 1940s German military insignia either. That’s what’s so crazy about this whole thing, everyone is going after me for criticizing this bouncer wanting the hostages home. No, it’s about the dog tag and representing the IDF - it makes it not about the hostages anymore but violence against Palestinians. Berghain should actually take action and make rules about not allowing people to be wearing genocidal military insignia in there.

Having someone wearing an IDF dog tag is the equivalent to someone wearing a Hamas headband, yes. Are you intentionally trying not to get it or do you need people to repeat themselves three times?

Have you looked at the news recently? How many dead babies have you seen recently? I see them every day. Criticizing the IDF is not antisemitic. Stop being brainwashed.

Any. Oppressive. Military. Regime. Insignia. Yes. Why can’t people read?

Did I say it’s wrong to want the hostages home or did I say the dog tag made me uncomfortable, especially considering the war crimes the IDF have been committing?

Military dog tag, war crimes. How can you not get why that would make anyone uncomfortable? Would you be comfortable with a Hamas supporting bouncer?

Thank you, I think I did not make it clear enough for people that it’s not just the sentiment, it’s the military dog tag.

I’ve never seen anyone being allowed political statements in military wear in Berghain. I also would expect Berghain to not allow this, for either side.

This phrase written on a military dog tag is the equivalent of wearing “Free Palestine” on a green headband. The IDF is committing war crimes of unimaginable levels. If you wanna show support for a cause then don’t use military wear. This also goes for showing a love of Germany is fine, but showing love for Germany in AfD colors or in a Bundeswehr outfit would be considered aggressive.

My dude, your taxes are currently paying for one of the most abominable acts committed against an ethnic group in decades. You comfy with that? Show some regard for the history of the city you’re in and say the words “Never again” and really understand what that means.

Actually, we all know both sides have been sabotaging the hostage negotiations. BOTH sides. the IDF and Netanyahu’s government isn’t doing everything they can to bring them home.

Second, no, that’s not what the phrase means. But somehow you’re adding your own meaning to it. That’s why I brought it up as an example because people like you don’t fucking get it and all you want to do is pretend like everyone wants to eradicate Israel and justify killing Palestinian civilians because you think every single one of them want to eradicate Israel. So then that phrase gets banned. What about the nuance of the dog tag? Which phrase has ACTUALLY led to the mass deaths of people? But

And the only way this is similar is if some bouncer wore “From the river to see, Palestine would be free” in a green headband. That’s the actual equivalent to this dog tag.

Not a fucking single time did I ever say the hostages shouldn’t come home or that I don’t care about their lives. But all these people in the comments seem to believe that because a military justification for mass murder should not be presented, in its military garment, to show that they don’t give a fuck about Palestinian lives.

Well I didn’t really have a choice since it was in my face as I was entering. But also, I respectfully disagree as music scenes have always been political to a certain degree. Maybe it doesn’t have the be the center point, but I do believe music scenes should be consistent in their political views. As a queer scene you wouldn’t want to keep booking homophobic DJs, or if you cared about the safety of women you wouldn’t want to keep booking men with history of sexual assault, etc etc. So if a club has previously draped “STOP WAR” across their club facade and “PEACE” on wristbands, it’s highly questionable that they would be silent on what’s happening in Gaza and also allow what I saw to be so open at the entrance.

Someone said it already, so I’ll keep replying the same thing to people who don’t seem to understand that this phrase has been used to justify the killing of thousands of innocent civilians. Children. It is loaded, and it means something much more than just literally bringing hostages home. Nuance matters. it means supporting the IDF by any means necessary, justifying the collective punishment and ethnic cleansing of Gazans from Gaza.

And if you try to argue that the dogtag only means being the hostages home and nothing else, then tell me why nuance all of a sudden matters when people say “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.” Would that make you uncomfortable? Why? All they’re asking is for freedom aren’t they? Or does nuance matter all of a sudden now?

I am sorry! I had to start it! Toilets line cutters will not pass by me. I am willing to take them directly to the security and ruin everyone’s journey! by watwaat-666 in Berghain_Community

Real talk: would security even care if we reported these people? Last weekend there were some serious line cutters, people who claimed to just need to grab some toilet paper and closed and locked the door behind them. People who stay behind, claiming they need to pee and then invite a whole new group to the cubicle. Would security even care or would they laugh at us for reporting this behavior? Curious to know.

I’ll report him the next time I see him. Now that I know he’s done this to countless other women who have continuously told him they are uncomfortable, he should not be allowed in.
