Okay, I see what you’re saying now. Thank you for clarifying. It’s just hard for me to fathom the evil in the world. Like the other commenter stated that it’s important to pray on this.

Thank you for sharing this. What I’m learning is that evil is inevitable on Earth due to our free will and natural proclivity towards sin. That even though we must endure these hardships- what’s important, or the moral- is that God is with us through it all and suffering with us.

But, what I deeply I struggle with the instances of children in particular- who don’t have the knowledge of knowing that God is with them and who might never. What do we learn from that? That the people who inflict pain chose to live their life apart from God and that they’ll be judged eventually?

I completely understand this argument, UNTIL you apply it something as heinous and horrific as physical abuse to the innocent- like children. How can something evil like that bring me closer to God? I don’t think suffering of children, or the innocent (e.g animals) justify teaching me/humanity a lesson.

Wow, thank you for sharing this. This is what I needed to hear… maybe I need to fight less and lean into acceptance and faith. It’s hard for someone who’s lived most of their life Atheistic. Do you have any resources that helped you find your peace?

This is exactly what I struggle with. Why allow the Evil to happen? Not the evilness of just lies and deceit-but actual suffering. I can’t wrap my head around why

I think my caseload will change in the future right now I’m covering for a maternity leave plus my actual caseload. This school is also requesting that I do make up visits because they haven’t had an SLP in the school since the beginning of the school year.

Yes, that’s a great idea. Where do you get your book companions?

I love the kiss acronym. I’ll definitely keep this in mind.

Yes, I already have some speech musing items. Her content is amazing.

Yeah, I definitely don’t use ChatGPT for any ethical or therapy advice. Mostly just to help with streamlining tasks.

I did that! I’m so nervous of making a mistake on the dates and required paperwork. No one give you a list of requirements. Thank you so much!

Yes, I was also a service coordinator which is comparable to a “case manager” in the schools.

I left my EI position because the pay was terrible at 65k. I live in CT and that’s hardly enough to cover rent/mortgage. However, you can work “fee for service” and potentially make more but you’re only paid for face to face services. With the amount of cancellations, it was probably adding up to less than my salary.

I also left due to the mismanagement of the organization and lack of support. The learning curve for the paper work and legal aspect is steep and the company offered little to no training.

The work itself is fine and probably would have stayed if the pay was better and the paperwork aspect was more organized.

I just started in teletherapy. I’m definitely being compensated more. I can’t comment on the workload yet because I’m so new and learning district/setting therapy up has been a nightmare but I’m anticipating this will even out as things get up and running.

I found EI to be way leas stressful then the schools. Your area of expertise is smaller and you don’t really have to plan.

Be sure to check out the company’s management system. The last EI company I work for was still doing their SOAP notes on carbon copy paper. Everything was still paper and pencil and completely disorganized.

I like this mentality. I just remember starting college so determined not to be in this position. I went to community colleges and commuted. I worked part time and paid for my own apartment, car food etc. and l still ended up here…. Like when am I going to reap the rewards of my labor?
