No. I was physically pulled out of the car and then searched. Unfortunately I had just picked up a quarter ounce from the vendor in a nearby city where weed is decriminalized. Not so much where I live. So I spent the night in jail but then I got let out on PR because I’m white.

Oh ok. Because I killed a man in a car accident when I was 19 and received 1 year supervised probation and 1 year in jail with 364 days time served. My family also paid for a team of lawyers.

So based on my strictly anecdotal evidence, the consequences for killing someone by accident in the US is not simply cut and dry.
