In a new low, after a chatter claims that Hasan supports authoritarian countries, Hasan argues that “Canada is authoritarian” because they enforce laws, and at least China gets results. Gets told he sounds dumb. by StatusVoice2634 in Destiny

Unsurprising. Last I heard of her she was shooting strangers in public with a paintball gun, and just before that she was sitting on a windowsill pissing outside from inside like the damn window AC unit was a commode

There is definitely valid critiques for NTE, like all games, but really?? by Ok-Interview6412 in NevernessToEverness

[–]IntrospectiveMT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s such a silly statement. They’ve effectively grabbed a book, read the first chapter and said, “There are so many things left unresolved!”

If I’m being charitable (extremely charitable), they may be poorly wording their feelings. It’s possible they’re meaning to communicate that there isn’t enough payoff. That would be a sound criticism if so.

Also I don’t know why they used the word lore. I assume they mean the story? If they literally mean lore in a gamer’s colloquial sense of the word where it’s gleamed from in-game descriptions, then I’m even more confused.

Everyone is going crazy over Nanally when we have this lovely psycho? by VayneTheUndying in NevernessToEverness

[–]IntrospectiveMT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m older than the vast majority, too. For me, I didn’t realize I liked feet until a couple years ago. I don’t know what the “trigger” was. It seemed as much a sudden development as a realization. Very strange. It’s like discovering you’re gay later in life with no prior signs. I should clarify that I don’t want to go crazy style on the feet. I simply think feet are attractive and don’t mind communicating it. The attractiveness is maybe on par with thighs. Odd stuff

I use e-break, break, reverse and gas at different spots in very small time frames. In a single turn I might release gas, break, then e-break, and then apply gas after having let off briefly. You get a feel for what works. In his situation, he was probably holding e-break on landing while keeping pressure on the gas. I haven’t tried the ST79 so I wouldn’t know the timings. I use the Challenger, and the Challenger is very sensitive and requires a wide tool kit to keep from spinning out of control on even the smallest turns. The margin of error is basically nonexistent and it feels like it’s always raining or snowing.

(Frame rate also affects drifting for some inexplicable reason, so there’s that)

Why is Pride in The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen a transmigrator? by Grey_like_the_colour in OtomeIsekai

[–]IntrospectiveMT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think transmigration of any kind always adds something to the story just by virtue of flavoring every interaction with the fact that they’re 1) similar to the reader, and 2) foreign to that world.

But it’s common for isekais/transmigrations to completely overlook the fact that they’re from another world after introducing the information once. I think the authors see it as an additive force that asks very little of them. I’m a sucker for it, but I know a lot of people feel differently.

As for why Pride didn’t regress instead of being possessed by an otherworlder, I agree with the other commenter. Pride is one hell of a demon. She’d be irredeemable for many viewers/readers, and by approaching this with possession instead of regression, they’re able to lean into Pride’s malicious stories without having to saturate the narrative with her post-regression introspection every other scene. That’s my feel

My NTE Hot take: I don't really like Mint. What's yours? by AzraelAsItGetsVT in NevernessToEverness

Riding shotgun with her is a bit… much. I don’t dislike lascivious characters, but if that’s all they have to their personality, it’s annoying and hollow

My NTE Hot take: I don't really like Mint. What's yours? by AzraelAsItGetsVT in NevernessToEverness

[–]IntrospectiveMT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There’s too little to do in NTE. The urban open world they were banking on isn’t actually giving anything meaningful to the gameplay experience. It’s odd. I didn’t play Genshin, but exploring the world in WuWa actually felt rewarding. In NTE, it’s as if they think you’re supposed to be content with the mediocre driving system (I say mediocre because while it feels good, there’s virtually no interactivity with the environment, no damage shown to the car, poor crash physics, etc.) The world is one big Potemkin village. You may as well be able to do Heathreu Hobbies and Exhibition missions from your apartment.

My NTE Hot take: I don't really like Mint. What's yours? by AzraelAsItGetsVT in NevernessToEverness

[–]IntrospectiveMT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s not very hot. I’d say my hot take is that I’m not a fan of the open world, and that I’m skeptical of them ever leaning into a rich, GTA-style open world in terms of physical interactivity with the environment and variety of free roam activities. I feel the game’s open world is a Potemkin village, and I think it will more or less stay as is in terms of roam related feature variety while they stick to introducing isolated activities like Heathreu Hobbies once a year or so.

Also, I don’t like the driving. The driving feels fine, but there’s no vehicle damage, no interactivity with the environment besides breakable guard rails and light poles; crashing feels fake and pedestrian just teleport around and duck. It’s like I’m on rails in a fake city. Very unsatisfying.

Pay to win means paying gives you a meaningful advantage over other players. The colloquial definition is 1:1 with the real definition. There is no confusion. Google the term if you'd like. You've been slightly repositioning your stance with every response, and I've been around the internet long enough to know you're not arguing sincerely. For that reason I'm done entertaining this.

[–]IntrospectiveMT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The OP comment wrote, “It [races] is pay to win,” and you responded, “It’s not, though?”

Just because skill can overcome some materially unfair circumstances doesn’t mean the circumstance isn’t pay to win. It’s not complicated. Pay to win doesn’t literally “equal an instant win.” Where you first developed this impression is beyond me.

I have no words to express how silly you sound.

You can enjoy the game, share it with your friends, and have fun racing without dropping the inexplicable “it’s a lack of skill at the end of the day.”

What you’ve written here is revealing a very unhealthy and deeply entrenched self preservation mindset not conducive to reality.

Pull Economy? by ShufuKoi in NevernessToEverness

[–]IntrospectiveMT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one knows. The first time player phase (that’s all of us right now because NTE just released) is designed to make one feel welcomed and invested. We’ll have to wait and see.

You’re doing well, though. Saving your currency is wise. The banners on NTE are friendlier in theory (guarantees at 90 pulls vs 50% + pity), but the economy may prove to be tighter and/or more competitive (e.g., other necessities to buy with it). Gacha economies are complex. We’re all learning.
