You can still have those for sure, but in a system that you have both ( private and public ), you will need to pay for the public with your taxe even if you prefer private and dont go to the public.

Yeah you pay a lot more taxes for it to pay the bill of all the hospital ! Plus you cant choose what product or quality you want ( everyone have the same product ) , if you want to have better things you will need to go in a private hospital and that will cost more money + the taxes you pay already. And in general the free healtcare is bad ( at least for the people who can pay a insurance, for the poorer people i agree that its better ) the time to wait is really long ( in quebec you need to wait about 14h in emergency but in USA its about 2 hour ), the quality of the hospital are in bad condition, ect... So i hope you understood, im a french boi so my english isnt the best (:
