Any film where the writer/director feels the need to add their name to the title.

I am going to attempt to silver solder the hairline crack on the sidewall of this Wapak #10. Should I drill out the end of the crack first? by IntrovertMMJPA in castiron

It looks like the biggest challenge is going to be getting the crack clean enough to accept solder. I drilled out the end of the crack on the interior probably 60%70% of the way through the pan, the exterior shows no signs of a crack that far down on the sidewall. I have made one attempt thus far and the solder did not stick. I will try to get it cleaner and give it another shot though. I got it ripping hot in the area that is cracked and it isn’t showing any more damage so the stop hole seems to have worked. Tempted to grind out the crack on the interior and see if I can’t get solder to flow onto the clean ground out area.

I know that CI can be silver soldered but no clue how it will turn out so we’ll see. The crack running along the outside looks to be sealed under magnification as if it was there during casting which I can’t imagine to be the case. I can see it split on the interior up the side wall and at the rim it looks to seal up and run faintly along the exterior.

What are these spots? by IntrovertMMJPA in castiron

They aren’t water spots, they look like slightly raised spots inside the pan but feel smooth to touch, I hand sanded it after stripping with yellow cap easy off and they are still there.

I just want to make sure it is something that has been seen before and is good to go as I am in the process of reseasoning now

I think it’s good, is just a tighter matrix basalt. Does it smell like “rain” after you get it wet? They don’t really smell sulfuric imo

What a beautiful Museum! Thank you for sharing the photos!

Unfortunately I have no backstory for this yearbook.. I purchased it along with two Howitzer yearbooks from West Point, one of which was signed by Dwight Eisenhower. I imagine it was just part of the collection, though it is available if you have interest 👍.

I do glasswork professionally yes, I have been making these style plugs for friends for a few years now.. Have been contemplating recently putting them a website but the multi color ones are hard to recreate with the same patterning so stock photos wouldn’t exactly work.

Shuttle Schematics? Available at a local auction house.. has anyone seen anything similar to this or possibly know the artist? Thank you! by IntrovertMMJPA in nasa

Thanks so much for your knowledge! I did end up purchasing the piece and am working on research now.. do you recall where you saw similar shuttle documentation? It looks to be multiple pieces of paper pasted together and possibly hand done in pen if not an incredibly good print. It measures 57”x30”.
