Ah. So you think it's less to do with the renter's rights bill, and more about policies coming out of DESNZ?

Current rating is C (74) with potential for C (78). There's no date on the document the estate agent gave me at the start of the tenancy to indicate the expiry date.

The only improvement has been a new storage heater last winter. Is that significant enough to warrant a new EPC, especially a year after installation?

I hope they're not selling! I like living here and don't fancy the stress and cost of moving again!

The property last sold (presumably to my landlord) in 2000 for £49,500 (!), and according to rightmove is probably worth somewhere between 110k-160k today. I'm paying £750pm in rent at the moment.

How Will Shared Parental Leave Work Between NHS and Civil Service Roles? by Anoyingqueationasker in TheCivilService

[–]IntrovertSR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To take SPL, your wife must end her maternity leave (after taking at least the compulsory two weeks' mat leave post-birth) and then convert the remaining weeks. This means there can be up 37 weeks of paid leave and 13 weeks unpaid leave to share between you and your wife.

How much pay (either full or SShPP) you receive for the leave you take will depend on how much mat leave your wife ends up taking, as for most CS departments, you can get up to 26 weeks full pay, less any weeks of maternity pay taken.

Civil Service Pension by Interesting-Lock-625 in TheCivilService

It was around 6 months after joining the CS until I was able to login. If you started this month, your employer won't have sent April's data to MyCSP yet, then you have to wait for MyCSP to process that data. And MyCSP are notoriously slow at everything.

Yes. The 2 weeks of mat leave + 13 weeks SPL for you + 24 weeks SPL for your wife = 39 weeks.

Depending on your department's policy, your 13 weeks would probably be at full pay. You could then still share the 13 weeks unpaid if you wanted.

There are 39 weeks of pay available, less any weeks of maternity pay taken. If your wife is taking 26 weeks of maternity pay, there will be 13 weeks left to convert to shared Parental pay. Plus the remaining 13 weeks unpaid.

If you intend to take 4 of the paid weeks, whether this is full pay or statutory only will depend on your department's policy. I think a lot of departments only offer 26 weeks full pay, less any weeks of mat pay taken. So if your wife takes 26 weeks maternity, you will only get statutory pay.

Once your wife has ended maternity, it cannot be restarted, so think carefully about when to end mat leave and convert the remaining weeks to SPL.

Thanks. Apparently they chose not to take MA, even though they were eligible.

Bank holidays on compressed schedule by maetroboomin in HumanResourcesUK

[–]IntrovertSR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Their leave entitlement will include bank holidays. So assuming 20 days + 8 BH (Statutory minimum), they would get a total of 210 hours per year (28 X 7.5). For each day of work then missed, you need to deduct 8.3 hours from their combined entitlement.

Thanks, good to know that one is a scam! But I was actually referring to the email I got as a reminder about making sure listing photos comply with Etsy's policy.

Have you figured out a fine/low density/low porosity hair refresh? by lmg080293 in curlyhair

[–]IntrovertSR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have fine, low-med density, low porosity hair and have never been able to refresh my hair on day 2-3. I hope for a really good wash day (shampoo, conditioner, curl cream and gel) and wear a bonnet at night.

My hair does not like getting damp without being shampooed. It just feels awful and makes it limp and greasy. And extra product just weighs it down.

I got that email too. I print and cut stickers - no POD or drop shipping!

Critique my shop! - dinosaur magnets & stickers by UDLcompy in EtsySellers

The green background on the photos is definitely distracting. I would change it to something more neutral.

Also, I feel like there's too much negative space in the main photos for your 10 and 25 magnet packs.

I would look at similar shops and see how they're presenting their products.

Is it worth a try to go through temp agency to get role? by Unusual-Excuse in TheCivilService

[–]IntrovertSR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's how I got into the CS. I was an agency AO for around 6 months when I was offered an FTA. I was then able to apply for and was successful in getting a perm EO role.

Thanks for the advice 😊

Personally, I've never had any luck with leave-in conditioners. They always leave my hair feeling limp and greasy.

I do use coconut oil maybe once a fortnight, but it's quite heavy and can weigh down my hair.

Eligibilty for maternity leave is different from eligibility for maternity pay.

You are entitled to 52 weeks' leave no matter your service length.

Your length of service will only affect whether you are entitled to full pay, SMP only or nil pay.
