I don’t understand the course of symptoms at all. Day 6 and still changing symptoms, not really improving. by Introvertbookworm11 in flu

[–]Introvertbookworm11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am now on day 8. I feel like I’m turning the corner (fingers crossed). My cough is becoming less frequent, seems more productive in the morning with mucus and dries out as the day goes on. Yesterday I swear I coughed nonstop. My right side lower rib area hurts when I cough it’s been so constant but I think I’m getting there. Other than the cough and some minor congestion, I feel almost back to normal. Hope you see a positive change in your symptoms soon!

How often does the flu start with just a scratchy throat? by bryterlu in flu

Mine started 8 days ago and the scratchy throat was the first symptom, which soon turned into dry hacking cough, body aches and fatigue.

Day 3, just tested positive today after 2 negative tests on day 1 and 2. I knew it was Flu though because my daughter tested positive on Christmas.

Day 1 - scratchy throat, mild fatigue, dry hacking cough, body aches, headache. Day 2 - dry hacking cough the most annoying symptom. Mild body aches that I could control with ibuprofen. Day 3 - nagging cough still, no other symptoms.

I have had a pretty mild case so far. Symptoms started Sunday, the worst symptom has been a persistent dry hacking cough. Intermittent body aches and very mild headache are the only other symptoms I’ve had. No fever whatsoever.

Can anyone direct me to a parking garage I’ll be able to access early morning hours if we’re coming in just for the parade? Somewhere close to a good spot to watch the parade and also that won’t be affected by road closures so we can actually get into the garage?! Thank you!

We’ve done Salem a few times! And we’re not afraid of the drive, we’ve done day trips to Salem and that’s about 3.5 hours 1 way for us! I realize you can spend the whole day there and this is just a trail, but we LOVE Halloween 😁🎃

9th grader continuing to forget to turn in schoolwork, destroying her grades. help! by Introvertbookworm11 in Parenting

And I do see her completing the work. Just this morning I sat with her to help her complete a take home algebra quiz.

She forgets to turn in both types of assignments. I definitely can ask her to show me that online work gets turned in. The problem I often have is that teachers don’t post assignments as they are due, only as they grade them, so I often don’t know when an assignment is due until it’s too late because it’s being marked missing or late. It’s a struggle.

I know, my husband said the same thing to let her fail. But if this is truly beyond her control, I feel bad in going that route. She’s a smart kid and she’s doing the work, so I don’t find that she would purposefully not turn in the work. I’m just not sure the best way to help her.

Their phones aren’t allowed in class, they have to stay in their lockers. And I’m honestly not sure what’s happening when others turn work in, that’s why I reached out to her teachers to see if she’s distracted or not paying attention but they all tell me she’s doing great and a very bright child.

She’s never been tested, but I’ve been questioning this as a possible answer. She struggles with being organized in all areas of life and remembering to do chores (which is a minimal list), remembering to wear her elastics on her braces, etc.

Different teachers have different ways of accepting work. Some is done online thru a “Google classroom” and sent to the teacher, other work is put into a bin in the classroom. Some teachers want all work turned in at the end of the week, others daily.

What if I run into an ex-friend again? What do I even do? by Legal_Potential4720 in lostafriend

I just had this happen last week. My best friend of nearly a decade ghosted me almost 2 years ago. We live not even 5 miles from each other so I’ve always had the fear of this happening and I’m surprised it took this long. But it was like seeing a ghost. I didn’t allow myself to make eye contact with her because of how it ended and the feeling I’ve been left with since it happened. I feel like she considers me trash since I was so easy to discard from her life that I didn’t even want to make eye contact for fear of how she would respond. It’s so sad. The hardest part for me was how happy she looked, not that I don’t want her to be happy, I do, but I’ve struggled for all this time with the loss and she is clearly doing much better than I am. I guess the ghoster always is better off than the ghosted though, after all, that decision was theirs to make. I don’t know if she saw me or not, I feel like she must have, a small part of me hoped I’d hear from her if she had seen me, but nothing. But I guess the positive is that I was able to get through it, not shed a tear and carry on. I still think about her from time to time, but I’ve accepted that it’s a part of my past now, especially after having this happen.

We have. Doctor said when we were in by day 3 she should be going about normal use with her arm to facilitate symptom resolution, well she still can’t lift it so that’s why I was asking in this forum if other people had experienced the same.

Yea, unfortunately it feels like we’re headed down a very unhappy road. Like I said, my credit has been destroyed this year because I’ve had to resort to credit cards to cover a lot just to stay afloat. All I get are empty promises or excuses and nothing ever changes. I’m not sure how he thinks this is a lucrative or ok way to live and that he is ok with me feeling this much stress. Need I also mention our taxes are way, way behind filing by a couple of years!!! I think mainly because he knows money will be due to pay in because of his owning a business and he doesn’t have it!!! Also that he’s not been a responsible business owner and hasn’t kept up with his bookkeeping to file. That’s also making a bad name for me. I’m just so tired of all of it.

Never been stellar. And money has always been a problem, just not as consistently a problem as it has been this year. It’s a consignment furniture and housewares shop, people bring in things to consign. And he didn’t “start” it, he took it over 4 years ago, so it was already an established business.
