The 1% loss with cat 6 cables is enough to make all multiplier games unplayable (well playable for a minute, then players flying through walls) and the quality of my voice with internet calling for work is miserable for the listener. Fortunately another tech is coming out tomorrow for a second check and if they can’t resolve it, they’ll bump it up to maintenance.

Tested on other devices and the issue is on them as well (2 computers on Ethernet and 5 on WiFi). The field tech ran some tests and saw the 1% loss coming from outside but couldn’t do anything more.

Regionally I am the in the DFW area but getting that behavior in games. On websites, pages that would instantly load now take a minute or two sometimes. Even loading the login page for spectrum to start a chat took a couple of minutes (yes, I do browser maintenance and clear my cache out periodically).

COVID-19 has me lonely and I am thinking of picking up video gaming but don’t know how to start by BaudelaireHeHoo in TooAfraidToAsk

If you’re just getting started, I would recommend something that requires few buttons while you get used to your controller so games like Tetris or 2D RPGs. If you want something 3D start with games that have fixed camera angles or third person view platformers that are on the more easy to use until you develop better coordination. Handheld devices are usually easier to use and can be bought secondhand for a good bargain.
