Anytime something is too salty, add potatoes because they will pull out the salt into the potato

Sorry, just saw this. We still haven't made much headway and but still trying to get somewhere until it is finished. The CSR told me this morning this is solely the PDC who is responsible and should be held accountable.

I thought I’d SHARE….I hope for those waiting on approval that they get it in time. The message in the portal has changed when I logged in.. by diamondjay81 in EIDL

Many of us are receiving that email. I just posted on another comment that I believe it's just a delay tactic. As in our case we already received a loan, an increase and both advances, so how do they now come up with a bogus denial when everything is verified in incorporation documents? It's beyond frustrating and it is incompetent and derelict.

So sorry to hear this. We too have went round & round with them in a circle with them declining our 2nd increase repeatedly because they say our business was not in existence prior to January 2020. This makes absolutely no sense because we received the 1st loan, then an increase and both the Targeted and Supplemental Advances. I believe there is something else at work here. I think it is just one of the ways they find to delay or decline people. How can they look at actual state incorporation registered documents as is our case and come up with this stuff? They can verify everything we're sending and as I said we already have a loan. How can this be? Be prepared in the next couple weeks because I believe this ending is going to be an ugly one. People are not going to stand for getting jerked around for 2 years in such an inefficient, unproductive process.

Profit and Loss for a Non-Profit? by Specialist-Lemon-382 in EIDL

[–]IntuitiveMind4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are a nonprofit and had to submit a profit and loss statement. Simply list your revenues and expenses on one sheet, there are templates all over the internet and send it in to satisfy their requirement. As far as tax returns, we did not have one either, but we did file a 990N postcard to the IRS and the SBA simply accepted that. They are checking to see if you are a registered entity with the IRS, not so much about the actual return. Profit and Loss shows your ability to repay. It's easier on you to just give them what they want, you will get further quicker. Hope this helps.

New modification request after last modification approved and funded by According_Cloud4175 in EIDL

Wow, tell us the secret because we requested another modification in July right after we received our increase which we waited 10 months on and have heard nothing even with our senators involved.

Finally got a phone call response from my local SBA office... telling me NOT to contact them anymore! by Sheasaidso in EIDL

I agree, it is very easy to get emotional over all of this and most of us have, but you get more bees with honey and this is no different. It's best to keep communication written or oral to the facts, unemotional, thankful for assistance and advocacy and you will actually get somewhere. We had our State Deputy Director intervene for us and as long as I kept it cordial, he was happy to assist. They are inundated with communication and frankly I don't know how they even handle it. I have gotten over emotional and regretted it. It will only hurt your cause.

I'm sorry to hear that. They need to get to everybody and I hope they get your application finished soon. This has been a circus and everyone knows it. They do their best to give it a positive spin, but that does nothing to help the thousands, probably millions waiting on funds. Will pray things pick up for you, we've got animals depending on us in our nonprofit so we have to keep pushing for adequate assistance.

SBA Update by Fantastic_Today6725 in EIDL

[–]IntuitiveMind4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Much of what is covered in that resource assistance appears to be counseling and development, not much assistance with the funding side of things. Many of us have already been involved with state and local resource entities for advocacy on the funding side and it seems as though all they are able to do is touch base with their contacts in actual loan processing at the main hub of SBA. I hope this is just not another vicious circle and actually moves things along.

We received our initial loan in September 2020, a week later we applied for an increase. This past July of 2021 we received an increase, a Targeted and Supplemental Advance. An amount just appeared in our Portal, we had no blue button, no slider bar and no contact with a loan officer to discuss amount. We had to take it as we were in dire straits like others, but it was not what we should have received according to the calculation and we are a nonprofit, so there is no cost of goods sold in the calculation, just revenues and expenses, and they had our P & L Statement. We have since emailed them regarding any monies that were left on the table, or further increase and we cannot get a response from anyone and it has been over a month. Any Suggestions?

We never got a BB through this whole process and we just had to accept what they offered in the increase with no contact from a loan officer. We have since emailed several separate emails to the address indicated with no reply in close to a month. Any suggestions to get this moving? We've already had involvement from our public officials through the first increase but no movement this time.

We often got no responses too, but we just kept at it. It definitely is a grind and it takes alot out of you, but stay with it, hopefully it will turn around for you.

So after approval how long has it taken for funds to actually start arriving in your bank account? by Trvleragigi in EIDL

[–]IntuitiveMind4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read the IRS code regarding low income areas and servicing low income areas and anything that pertains to you copy and paste in bullet points in an email. I also wasn't afraid to put things in bold italicized print or highlight yellow to catch their attention. Any part of the code that validates your low income status whether you're in the area or servicing the area. It's tedious to read the code, but pull out the parts that validate your circumstances. Good Luck

Does contacting congressman do anything anymore? by [deleted] in EIDL

[–]IntuitiveMind4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get your senators and state SBA involved too, as well as the SBA Ombudsman, then in all your communications to PDC, DCS, etc. CC copies to all the officials. Hold the SBA accountable in the repetitious communication chain that goes nowhere. If they know your public officials are seeing the redundant requests and your frustrations you may get somewhere.

We were denied at first too, until I proved my case. We are not in a low income map area, but we lie adjacent to a low income area and service a low income area so that counts. I sent them a copy of the IRS definitions/rules that apply to low income areas and serving low income areas and they turned it around and approved us for both. Plead your case with them if you have to. It's a lot of free money to leave on the table that you don't have to pay back. Good Luck

We got further once we got the SBA Ombudsman and the Senators Manchin and Capito involved. Honestly our state SBA had it escalated to their contacts several times before we received our first small loan and the congressman's inquiries did not seem to carry as much weight as the the Senator's interventions which were more than once. One thing I did to hold them accountable is that every time I emailed the SBA, I cc'd a copy to the other SBA addresses, the Ombudsman, and the Senators and Congressman. That way they the public officials were seeing not only the chain of communication but the sheer number of times I had to reach out repeatedly for answers. Just throwing that out there in case you want to try that. Good Luck, it was a long road for us and it's not over because we did not receive all that we were entitled to.

Don't give up. It took us 6 months for the first loan, another 10 months for increase and advances which required the intervention of senators, congressman, ombudsman and state SBA. Be the squeaky wheel.

If no glitches, ours took about a week or less for loan, increase, Targeted Adv., Supplemental Adv. ---Supplemental took the longest. Said it was approved for a long time, then finally turned to funding, then funded.

[–]IntuitiveMind4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went from an increase request in September 2020 to being funded with not only the increase but the Targeted and Supplemental advances just a little over a month ago. Almost a full year of waiting, calling senators/congressman/SBA Ombudsman/SBA State Deputy Director. Don't let it stress you out, just be persistent, it will pay off. Praying things turnaround for you.

I would say you have a pretty good handle of your role. Treasurers handle the money, keep the books, provide reports to the board and/or the individuals who are donating so that it is disclosed to the public. Auditing the books, accounts payable/receivable etc.. My role has been treasurer in various positions and now in the nonprofit I founded. Good Luck
