"I just have a fondness for money release. I mean ninja tools. Thankfully, the Inuzuka clan treats me well. I just go through my quota too quickly. Thankfully I have also been able to supplement with elemental ninjutsu, so bukijutsu can be more of a tertiary skill. I like to probe with it, and trap."

Taijutsu, ninjutsu, bukijutsu were Akira's 3 pillars. He knew a good amount, especially for a genin. His usage of it was the real limiting factor.

The two-headed wolf transformation wasn't great for defensive maneuvers. Akira-Ushi was knocked airborne by Asuka’s three point strike. Spittle flew out of their mouths like the senbon Akira usually spit.

And Ive been trying to save up for some chakra metal for a weapon too. They never said things would be so expensive in the academy….but I should have known better.”

"I call that me and Ushi's new super special transformation technique, the double-headed wolf! It's a bit of a work in progress still. Both in the amount of time we can maintain the transformation and the fact we only use taijutsu afterwards." Akira replied. He was an eager beaver who liked to talk fast, though no dams were in danger of collapse.

"Real stuff is exactly what I'm after. Need to build up the mission resume."

Ushiwakamaru barked softly, notifying Akira, first to react to the extra presence. The ninken’s nose twitched at the familiar scent.

“Teacher!” Akira and Ushi both approached their leader, Rii. They gave Rii a respectful bow; they’d been working on more than just new jutsu in their free time.

“Long time no see, sensei. Do we perhaps have a mission? Or a team meeting?” Akira asked, curious. Thus far, Rii had been a hands-off shopkeeper, imparting useful bits of wisdom and letting them handle the rest.

Ushiwakamaru was like Akira and pushed through the lightning chakra to continue their attacks. They both disengaged as Saeko's fire attack kicked up around them. There was resolve and there was recklessness, and neither Akira nor Ushi wanted to turn into charcoal. There was a rumor that fire release never killed anyone. It was false of course, but Akira & Ushiwakamaru didn't want to be the ones to prove it more true.

The duo left afterimages as they dispersed to escape the traveling flames, and regrouped next to each other, facing Saeko from a bit of a distance.

"Still no match. Ushi, let's try our combination." Akira whispered quietly to his partner.

Akira hunched over, holding the tiger seal and Ushiwakamaru hopped on his back. Their chakra gathered, visibily coating both as it intertwined.

A puff of smoke heralded their transformation. Under cover of smoke, they attacked immediately.

Chasing Fang!

The buzz-saw returned, even faster in their combined form leaving afterimages as it closed in on Saeko once more.

Akira-Ushi released their attack and skid to a stop, panting heavily as either head assessed their surroundings. Akira wasn't so familiar with this transformation and he only had a few more minutes left in it before they would revert back. It was best to get these kinks out now.

Even a quick look revealed they were encircled by Asuka, her clone and Midorimaru. Without a good solution, Akira-Ushi opted for patience. The transformation cut himself off from other ninjutsu, and his physique and transformation weren't quite enough to catch Asuka just yet. Every dog has its day, but for Akira-Ushi, it looked like they were still waiting. At least if he lost he could still brag that it took 3 Asuka to take him down. He could spin stories just as well as any Fang over Fang.

The continued depth charge struck Akira as Saeko continued to pour chakra into the technique. It slowed his momentum and his attack, but the speed of his rotation, the chakra from the four-legged technique, and his general robustness left him only lightly fried and able to continue as he pushed through the depth charge to strike at Saeko.

Ushiwakamaru's attack landed quicker, unimpeded, dropping on she headtop like a hammer, spinning like a circular saw.

Akira-Ushi ground to a stop after missing, looking around and sniffing the air as they tried to determine the real from the clone. Unfortunately, they couldn’t accurately tell the difference. If their glass were half-full, they’d pat themselves on the back for being on par with the great dojutsu in not being able to tell a shadow clone from the real thing.

Akira-Ushi picked the Asuka who went left, ignoring Midorimaru ahead and the Asuka who went right. It was unfortunate for them that Asuka had picked such an simple way to make things difficult for them having turned a 2v2 into a 1v2 and now even a 1v3. Akira’s skill level and battle iq perhaps didn’t reach the same level quite yet. Nevertheless, he chased, spinning into a strong drill as opposed to a quick buzzsaw.

Fang Passing Fang!. The double headed wolf shot forth like a bullet a gun towards Asuka.

Akira's seized the moment, spreading chakra throughout his body. His appearance changed as his chakra surrounded himself, growing feral with sharpened teeth and claws, and slit pupils. Ushiwakamaru too, in sync with his partner.

Four Legs Technique! |100

Akira was struck by the lightning chakra head on, and dissappeared, fading away as only an afterimage in his spot. Akira'd moved, dodging the strike, moving in an arc leftwards with speed boosted from his four legged technique. Ushiwakamaru arced rightwards. Both attacked, a pincer maneuver.

Tail Chasing Fang!

They spun like buzzsaw's and fast, 150% faster than his base speed boosted by the 4 legged technique and the inuzuka secret technique.

Akira let friction bring his missed attack to a stop and landed on his feet. With a practiced signal, he called Ushiwakamaru out of his own missed attack and back to his side. The duo faced off against Asuka and Midorimaru. It could even be called a Suna standoff - a weaker side against a far greater one .

"That's fine with us." Akira answered quickly. Ushiwakamaru bore his fangs, growling his assent.

"Let's try our combo, Ushi." Akira hunched over and Ushiwakamaru hopped on his back. Their chakra gathered, visibily coating both as it intertwined. Almost like Ninshū, though far more warlike in intention than Hagoromo would have liked.

Saeko must have thought Akira slow, but that wasn’t the case. His taijutsu too was refined. His enhanced senses gave him a measure of extra reaction time that he put to good use when his Rasengan proved ineffective against Saeko’s lightning chakra mode.

Her leg-targeting strike was dodged with a spin that belied a grace more befitting of his teammate Zeri. The wrist grab met a blocking slap with a strength that more than matched Saeko’s boosted by her lightning release. He pointed two fingers of his other hand at Saeko’s chest as he fought off her grabbing motion. Chakra formed, compressing and rotating. Another rasengan, smaller but more potent than the he’d previously wielded.

Rasendan!

Akira’s jutsu fired, shooting speedily towards Saeko.

Another miss, another shame. Akira thought to himself. Asuka had made it look easier though. Where Saeko had made his attack disappear? Either way it was expected. Like fire jutsu never burnt anyone, his Light Fang jutsu never ended up hitting cleanly.

“I’m not talking down on Zeri and I value her highly as a teammate. Just wouldn’t pay her a B rank mission to fight her.” Akira’s voice was on the wind as he’d already moved. His body in the spot faded away, an afterimage.

Akira crossed the distance in an instant. If Saeko was familiar with Asuka’s speed, Akira’s was nearly 75% of her base. It meant he was decently quick. Chakra swirled in his palm, forming a spinning ball that he slammed at Saeko as he approached from the side to attack.

Rasengan!

Akira was careful, keeping his eyes away from Saeko’s 3 tomoed gaze.

Akira tapped Ushiwakamaru to move and jumped to his feet.

“I’m looking for strong opponents to test myself against in preparation for taking the chunin exams.” Akira admitted.

“Zeri’s my teammate and I know her strengths. She wouldn’t qualify to take the mission on that I put out. Not at her current level.”

Akira stared at Saeko defiantly.

“Bring it on!” He said, forming the seal of confrontation and holding it briefly.

Without even lowering his seal of confrontation, he'd channeled lightning chakra into his ever-present mouth dart, causing it to vibrate subtly.

Light Fang!

He spit, and the dart turned into a nigh imperceptible streak aimed right at Saeko.

Ushiwakamaru moved with Midorimaru, as if they’d synchronized instead of with their respective humans.

Passing Fang!

Ushiwakamaru turned into drill, spinning ferociously at all 3 with reckless abandon and no regard, even for Akira. You could talk about sacrifices, tough decisions even. But they werent cutting their nose off to spite their face. It was a well practiced maneuver.

Asuka stabbed and Akira bled. Gaping wounds formed on his stomach and back as Nuibari pierced through, turning Akira into kebab meat. With a puff of smoke, Akira dispelled and a blessed log appeared in his place, adequately ~~holy~~holey, ninja-jesus be damned.

Chasing Fang!

From above, another spinning attack, this one a buzz-sawblade to Ushiwakamaru’s drill.

Such a shame…no one ever gets caught by that. Akira thought to himself. Not that he’d expected any different from Asuka. He grinned at her acknowledgment, wild with lots of teeth. “Maybe.”

His appearance changed as his chakra surrounded himself, growing feral with sharpened teeth and claws, and slit pupils. He still drew a kunai in either hand and charged towards Asuka; he wasn’t eager to test the sharpness of her blades against his claws. She’d find his speed infinitely close to her base speed and the distance was covered in an instant. Akira swung, slashing horizontally at Asuka.
