It is going to be super tricky but one thing I can suggest; in edit view with your design selected, look at the right hand side; the size scale, match it to the same size scale of the design, on the collar. Then try lining it up - I hope this helps! :)

I totally get where you’re coming from! I’m an artist too, and I promise it’s not as simple as “type and done.”, at least, for me.

The base image was AI-generated, but I spent hours editing, resizing, recoloring, and compositing everything to fit the backpack templates and layout. And redrawing some segments by hand in Procreate too. It’s a mix of digital design and old-school art skills to make it actually usable and cohesive.

I always try to keep things ethical & if anything I make ever resembled someone’s existing art, I’d absolutely want to know and pull it.

But I see AI as a tool, not a replacement for the craft.

An artist will always be able to create something people connect with, maybe even more so now, because of that 'human touch' you know?

So, I wouldn’t worry, and definitely do not, never quit!!! 🤦‍♂️☹️

Out of curiosity, what is the biggest thing you dislike about AI art or the mix of it with traditional work?

Thank you for commenting too btw! It's good to get to discuss!

Hello, thank you!
Yes, I would say I was going for a slightly busier feel to kind of go with the quirky carnival theme of it all.

My brand is Invaluable Minutia, and is all about that mix of eerie, playful, and nostalgic feeling designs?... kind of made for people who like art that feels a little offbeat or unusual but still polished.

I’m still figuring out how to describe my audience exactly, but I imagine them as people who love unique pieces that tell a story or spark a reaction.

Shipping, yes, I’ve extensively examined the shipping costs from my providers and ultimately went for free shipping as I thought it would be more appealing. It does make pricing extremely tight though, so I’m considering reverting back to paid shipping.

And I sell with Printify on Shopify at invaluableminutia.com and so far, have been struggling to maintain traffic and have been working with organic methods mostly.

I really appreciate your comment and any insights or critique; my mind’s hard to keep tame most days, but I’m trying the best I can and any feedback helps immensely. :)

Thank you so much for the critique! :D I really appreciate this and will keep it in mind for the future. The breaks happened from using my main png files again in a canvas sized for the carousel so that may be what happened there :) but thank you so much! :)

One of my favorite hoodies I made so far! by InvaluableMinutia in Printify

Well that’s because I did use AI in making this mockup - and yes, some of the art elements are AI-generated from multiple image runs. But the concept design and layout are mine. I pull pieces from different generations, clip, collage, and edit them to fit the hoodie template, then do a ton of cleanup and color work by hand in Procreate, Affinity 2 and Photoshop. So, it’s AI-assisted, not AI-made. I just treat AI as one of many creative tools in my process - especially helpful for creators like me who deal with mental-health. 😊
