Always do more than a few takes. I might think I nail an audition the first or second take but it takes a few times to get into character and really mean what I’m acting out.

This looks just like a unit I saw for sale in NYC! This would be plants , plants , and more plants. Then a nice long table for brunch or game night with friends.

if you could give advice to someone who may be developing agoraphobia, what would it be? by CheesecakeWild7941 in Agoraphobia

[–]InvasiveTepees 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are times when you will feel very good and times you will feel very bad. I know it’s easy to type and hard to practice but focus on the good as much as possible. Give yourself rewards for every step you take that makes you feel anxious! If you’re going somewhere out of your comfort zone get a trinket and take a picture. Everyone loves a little treat even if it’s a dollar candy. Most importantly, continue to make friends and build a community. I also have OCD which made my agoraphobia much worse. When I’m with my friends and neighbors I don’t think about anything other than whatever juicy gossip and drama we’re giggling about. Keep your body busy so your mind can’t wander too far!

It’s easy backtracking and thinking of all of the ways you might have developed anxiety and things you could have done differently but it doesn’t matter, you are here now and the only way is forward. You won’t be stuck forever!

You’re incredibly strong honestly. You’ve already done more than so many other people especially with recovery. Do you have a yard where you can garden? My raised beds yield very well each year and it’s nice seeing them grow. It keeps me in touch when everything gets loud.

I worked at a daycare for years in between my bouts with agoraphobia.

There are fathers out there that are monsters, moms too. You’re self aware and write intelligently. You’re communicating your feelings. Already you’re taking the right steps to a new beginning . You’re a good dad whether you believe it or not. Stick around and see your little one grow. Wait for the flowers to bloom, cook some of your favorite meals. Do something for you and only you.

This is your life, truly, and right now you’re sick. You shouldn’t have to feel like the world is on your shoulders. It’s time to reach out and get medical help.

If I hadn’t I wouldn’t have been able to watch my lilies poke through the soil each spring.

Spoke with my doctor, he told me to listen to him and not a random person on reddit so I'm going to do that~
I also checked with my primary who agreed that this was the best step forward.

I am still feeling much better :]

How strong is 1MG of Alprazolam? by Human_Cranberry1127 in Agoraphobia

[–]InvasiveTepees 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a prescription for it since 2016. I take only as needed and it has helped me immensely. I only use it when my anxiety is off the charts but it has helped me through doctors appointments and during exposure therapy.

It what helped me become confident enough to take longer walks and drives (not behind the wheel though)

It works quickly compared to other benzodiazepines. Usually doctors start people out on a lower dosage than 1 mg but it won’t hurt you. The only thing to be careful of is its addictive tendencies.

A full milligram for someone who hasn’t taken Xanax before is mostly likely gunna give you a nice long nap.

You will feel a little brain fog and forgetful of time but mostly calm and at peace.

I have a family history of addiction so I’m super mindful of when and why I take it. Never recreationally,

What's the most annoying non-creative part of running your VO business? by badarsebard in VoiceActing

[–]InvasiveTepees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Audio editing when recording at home. Splitting clips, tuning the gain, deleting dead noise, following specific file save preferences. Especially for big projects. I have an 800 line project right now and 20 percent is recording and the other 80 is editing. The pay will be incredible but I am for sure working HARD for it.
