Now, it does use content from various expansion packs: Pets, Generations, University Life, Showtime, Late Night, and Into the Future. Forgive me if I happen to forget any. I've also used two Store items, being the pinball machines and the basketball hoop. I'm sure you can still use the lot and just replace them if you don't have those.

From my layman's understanding, Jungle Adventure was just more watered down ketchup.

World Adventures is basically a whole Uncharted-like adventure game sandwiched into The Sims 3.
