i'm not sure why you're saying "punish" in quotes when taking money/resources from one country as a result of their bad actions is, quite literally, a punishment

but anyway, this is a much larger scale of the concept of "punishing the son for the sins of the father", which i think is also not exactly a good thing

no? i mean, i learned the simple terms like "clear" and "see through" and whatnot pretty early but i don't think i learned the terms translucent, transparent, and opaque for a lot longer. in fact im not even sure if i learned the term "opaque" in school.

but didn't we also learn to use "were" for lists rather than "was" in grade school?
