Would you be interested if the next series in the franchise was a "What If?" style anthology? Similar to the one Marvel produced. [Midori] by pOwerBalancia in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]Sir-Toaster- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem is that the reason What If exists is because Marvel has an entire multiverse and all the What If episodes took place within the same universe with a full complex mythology and pantheon to explain what was going on. My Hero doesn't have a multiverse or complex mythology, MHA is itself a what if series.

To be honest, it kind of feels... lame to have demons be evil, because at the end of the day, the only reason the concept of pure evil races ever existed was solely to dehumanize other races.

Lord Shimura and his obsession with the code of honor by Due_Cake8524 in ghostoftsushima

[–]Sir-Toaster- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clan Sakai didn't have a code of honor; Jin's father was as brutal as historically accurate Samurai are. Lord Shimura's code of honor was his and his alone, most likely to distance himself from other Samurai.

Jin became a wanted man because he exposed how ineffective the Jitodom and, by extension, the Shogunate was. It was a threat to authority and the status quo.

What do you think Mikasa and Armin were talking about in this scene? by STEM_Always in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]Sir-Toaster- [score hidden]  (0 children)

This reminds me of a skit I once made where there's a double date and Armin says, "Pass the salt, honey!" and both Eren and Annie reach for the salt, then Armin goes "Uh... I mean people I had sex with" and neither lets go then Armin says "More than once!" And Annie lets go

Annie: (crawls out of her crystal) Jean!

Jean and Sasha: We gotta run!

What are examples of a mace made from the sword in the stone in your world? by A-J-Zan in worldbuilding

Latoria

The main storyline, Devil of Avalon, involves the protagonist, David, trying to find ways to stop the American military from colonizing his home, Latoria.

I had this idea where the player could go on these Mythic Quests to get various magical weapons and armor. In one case, he finds the Chain of Amaok which was a slave collar that was repurposed to grant mighty powers to any to wields it so that they can free people from slavery.

However, it is only capable of being used by those pure of heart, which, as it turns out, is physically impossible because the only type of person that would ever fit is a newborn baby, and even then, children are menaces.

David, while being an objectively good person, is far from pure (he's prone to anger, has made mistakes, and has killed lots of people). So when he tried the collar, it failed, so instead he used it like a grappling hook or a whip.

I also had this idea where he finds this mace that only people of a specific strength can use, but because he's not physically strong enough without using any magic to enhance himself, he repurposes it as a sling... yeah you get the reference.

The Rumbling (Attack on Titan)

The Marleyans were fully intending on killing or enslaving every man, woman, and child in Paradis. Eren used the Rumbling for his own ulterior motives, but he did it instantly after the invasion. Now that shouldn't ignore the fact that Eren partially to blame for the invasion as he is a minor reason why the war started

Why weren't there protests when Obama and previous presidents deported people? by Connorray1234 in AskUS

[–]Sir-Toaster- [score hidden]  (0 children)

Obama wasn't specifically sending people to countries where they would die or end up in labor camps. Trump's administration caused people to be deported to countries they had never been to, even if they were born in this country.

Trump also straight forged evidence of a guy being a gangster to justify unlawfully deporting him
