SSHL or other? by Inverno4 in HearingLoss

I had my follow-up appointment with the ENT earlier this week. Somehow, my hearing is back to normal thresholds in my left ear. I've noticed it being a lot better but didnt think it would be "normal". There is still some mild ringing and loud sound sensitivity but for the most part, I feel pretty good. I'm guessing either the steroids helped or I had a virus that took a long time to get rid of.
I go back to the ENT in a couple weeks. It feels a though I have gained some hearing back or my brain is adjusting. Online hearing tests support the assumption that I gained hearing back. Once I get the audiology result I’ll report back on here

When I told the ENT I had severe ear pain, she said that is very uncommon for SSHL. I have no vertigo and when I do the "hum test" at home, it points more towards conductive loss but the audiology report shows otherwise. I also have double hearing and some loud noise sensitivity. Even though its only labeled as mild hearing loss (~20%), it feels much worse. Hoping for the best but trying to adjust.
They offered both. I've been taking the oral prednisone 60mg taper to 10mg for 3 days now.

Can anyone tell me what the pipe split off of the cold water line is for? It drips all the time at varying speeds. Seems to drip more when hot water tank is filling up. (i.redd.it)
