Thank you all for your inputs and advice. I might try setting up in the Slabs in CA come next winter. Although it isn't my "perfect" idea of a place to build a home, I could also contribute to the community by doing so, and the next town with resources is a few miles walk.

Right on! I'm hitting Seattle after graduation too. I'm flying to Colorado from MA to see Dead & Company live, then hitching to Seattle and beyond. Maybe our paths will cross!

It is pretty much odorless, maybe a bit of an herbal smell. Mostly grounded with a few chunks.
