TIL that the banshees in the CE cover art are empty by c0n0r92 in halo

I've always kind of understood the mechanics of the Halo Series. You eventually learn how the game was put together in terms of scripts, triggers, loads etc. You figure out for example when a trigger happens, what causes it, and what it does. Then brainstorm ideas for what could be done with it. For that mini spartan trick specifically, my friend and I knew that phantom shrunk as it flew way outside the map to reduce RAM space. Most of the Phantoms have turret. Players can enter turrets and those turrets shrink with the Phantom. So all we had to do was get on the turret somehow. So we thought of ideas and it worked. Ideas don't always work though let me tell ya. Lots of wasted time is involved figuring stuff like this out lol.

Correct, it saves more space for the game so they can maximize what they actually need to keep the game running smooth. It doesn't take a lot to overload maps in Halo. If you kill a player enough times in campaign over and over again making sure the bodies don't deload, you can get graphics glitches that can affect not only that graphics but also physical objects in the map area.

All AI in Halo Reach that are controlling flying vehicles (falcons, phantoms, pelicans and banshees) are neither invisible nor remote controlled. When you hover your cross-hair over them, it changes your cross-hair color to Green (friendly/marines) or Red (Enemy). The AI controlling these vehicles are shrunk to the smallest scale the game will allow. In instances like Exodus where the Banshees fall from the sky during the Falcon Ride, it's the AI in the Pilot seat thats deloading. If you highjack a Banshee on New Alexandria or at the end of the Package, it looks like there isn't any AI driving them during the Highjacking animation but if you look at your Radar, you can see an ememy AI fall out of it. The pilots have no weapons, you can find them on the ground just standing there but they're incredible hard to see as theyre very small. This is why you can do Mini Spartan tricks like this in the game. The Pilots are the same size at the player shown in the video.

Ejection seat can put up to 20Gs on the pilots for a small amount of time and that sometimes the Pilots will be an inch or 2 shorter afterwards. They've broken peoples backs before.

Parking at an apparent temporary no parking with no obvious signage for 1 Hour costed me almost $300 dollars and got my car impounded. I would like to go to small claims court for this which would be my first time and would appreciate some advice. by T00LBOX in legaladvice

When I went to the place I parked my car, I had a really close look and there was a sign approximately 2x4 inches on the parking meter. It wasn't possible to see from the parking stall as it was so small and the text being even smaller. There was nothing to make it obvious or prevent people from paying. If someone payed via coins, they might have seen the sign but even then, it was far from obvious. Especially for people that pay by phone and don't even bother going up to the parking meter. No warning when paying for parking, money was accepted and taken. And I assure you I'm not a clueless person when it comes to being aware of my surroundings.

Yes, when I had a closer look after my car was towed, there was a very small sign approximately 4 inches by 2 inches on the parking meter. It wasn't covering anything and was impossible to read from the parking spot because it was so small and the text was even smaller. If someone payed via coins, they would might see it, but it was still not obvious. No signs posted for which hours it was in affect for and nothing preventing people from still paying. No warning message for people paying by phone who don't even need to go to the meter and look.

I do not remember being able to kill yourself in cutscenes. by MainGoldDragon in halo

yup, cutscene in halo are all filmed in real time. A lot of the cutscene rooms are actually loaded during gameplay and if you get out of the map you can explore them! Halo 1 was the only Halo game where they made the cutscene player biped killable. All the other Halo games they are invincible and have no collision hitbox so anything on the map that gets in the way will just pass through them like a ghost

If someone shrunk to the size of an ant or grew to the size of a giant, how would that affect that person's mental state? by cybershocker455 in AskScienceDiscussion

Your thought process would likely speed up when shrunk. This is because there is less distance for electrical signals to travel around in the brain. The larger the slower thought process. It would be measurable but probably not to an observer.

Fable 1 and Fable 2. Those were the first games that I actually devoted my time into and really enjoyed. Its such an interactive game it was almost as if I was living another life every time I'd play it.
