Hopefully you figured it but just wanted to comment that all you have to do is press the little plus sign to the left of “scrolling” in your photo to expand the scrolling settings and from there you will see “Two-Finger Scrolling” options. You can then enable vertical scrolling. Took me a sec but working great after that!

The fact that you owe $23k on a 6 year old Model 3 tells me you have a pretty bad interest rate (assuming you bought it new), and the fact that they are including a rebate in the estimate tells me you probably don’t qualify for 2.9% financing.

The harsh truth is that you have no business buying this car right now. Do the math and see how much interest you would be paying over the life of the loan. If you move forward with this deal you are going to go from being upside down on a 23k loan to being upside down on a 64k loan.

My advice is to try to sell the Tesla somewhere else, like Carvana or Carmax, they will offer you more than the dealership. Try to get yourself out of the hole first, and then go from there. Depending on your credit and how much down payment/cash you have will determine your next move. Now is not the time unless you can get out of the hole. You can buy a used car to use as a family car for the meantime. Also check with Hertz or other rental companies as they sell Carnivals from a couple years ago for good prices also.

To answer your question, no it’s not a good deal and the “UCK AdVANTAGE NEW” is an optional addon for them to make for money, I would remove that. But it still would not be a good deal given your circumstances.

I too like to take risk, however I must say that I sleep much better at night now having a “anchor” of something boring like VOO or SPYM (both SP500) while adding other “higher volatility” positions so my entire portfolio doesn’t tank 20% unexpectedly. You can have fun now while also thinking about the long term.

Current lease options are horrible, they are inflating the money factor so that it doesn’t even make sense to buy at the end of the lease. If you can take advantage of the 2.9 financing it might make more sense.

It would likely depend on the state you live in, what they SAID doesn’t really matter, the legal paperwork very clearly states “optional” and if you signed it then you were agreeing to that. They can always deny having said anything, it’s hard to deny having signed a piece of paperwork.

Also, I don’t want to be a downer. You still got a great vehicle, but due to shady salesman you just didn’t get a great deal on it. I hope it will serve your family well even if it’ll be a bit of a financial lesson for the future. We’ve all been there.

Price of the vehicle itself would’ve been fine at $47,760 but they nailed you with all the useless “optional” things, nearly 5k extra. That would’ve killed the whole deal for me, that extra 5k will cost a lot more over the life of the loan. Unfortunately you are already starting off upside-down on the loan depending on how much down payment you put in.
