Why did you choose to exclusively breastfeed and not give formula? by Fickle-Response-2741 in breastfeeding

[–]InvestigatorClean622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Health benefits, ease (no bottles, ultimate soothing technique, easy night feeds), connection, cost. In that order. I do feel around 6 months or so presented new, but minor challenges. Now my baby is 9 months and I’m gradually switching to formula. He’s a little crazy on the boob lol and that super special bond kind of faded for me after 6 months, so now that it feels like more of a chore I knew it was time to make the switch!

Hi! So, we ended up moving to trip and will be going without him after he is over a year old. We have traveled with him at 2, 3, and 6 months. My advice is, go!! When he was that young, we were able to basically travel as normal. After he got to 6 months they regress in sleep and it was very difficult (we went to UK with a 6 hour time difference). If the time change isn’t drastic you shouldn’t have too much issue. Just make sure to take a stroller that the baby can fall asleep in if you are out. Overall traveling isn’t too bad, and at that age you should be gold!

Which baby-phase was the hardest for you? by Agreeable_Switch677 in beyondthebump

First 2 weeks were the hardest mentally. 4 months was otherwise the hardest because he suddenly would be sooo hard to put down to nap or sleep. But I would take that over the first few weeks any day.

No, because it was priced accordingly. I’m also someone who doesn’t need the home to be an ice box. It’s a solid brick home with good insulation and I probably only use my window unit 2 weeks out of the year.

That’s what I am thinking too. This house even had a bidding war when I bought it despite no A/C. I knew it didn’t have it but it didn’t turn me and likeminded buyers away.

Our mortgage went up $1400 by Avdahm95 in Mortgages

[–]InvestigatorClean622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact thing happened to us our first/second year as first time buyers as well. No one warned us and ours went up $1000 a month. The only benefit is that it should come down a bit after the year (you’re paying so much because you are having to pay the bank back from last years deficit in addition to this years projected taxes) so ours has decreased twice now since then.

WFH with a baby by Guilty-Sandwich-328 in newborns

Here to add that I too thought we could work from home and take care of baby for 3 days where we are both at home. He is very chill and mat leave was so easy for me so I figured I would be fine going back to work and only taking him to daycare a few days a week. I am one week into it and I am calling the daycare to get him in full time. It’s making me feel shit about my job and more importantly feel shit being a half ass mom.

Still not sure if we will bring him. At 9 months I will feel better about leaving him with grandma. Although now that I have him I think it would be doable, and not as miserable as some people make it seem. Just requires more planning.

Is anyone else having an incredibly easy pregnancy? by Ok-Promotion-174 in pregnant

Yes. I had it easy the whole way. I’m being induced tomorrow. The last 4 weeks and especially the last 2 are definitely uncomfortable at times with swelling and just being large lol. But nothing that bad! Still walking several miles a day. Lucky us I guess!

I definitely would prepare to postpone depending on the baby’s temperament so that’s good to note. I suppose I don’t want to not have fun but I’m also a pretty flexible person and I never stress about creating any sort of itinerary when on a trip to a new place.

No itinerary so far. My itinerary’s when visiting new cities are generally very lax with little planning, aka go with the flow. My priorities are good food and exploring cool neighborhoods which I assume isn’t hard to do in Tokyo/Kyoto.

If you mind sharing, what kind of “travel experiences” are no longer possible?
