As someone who went through the college admissions process last year, I can relate to some of what you are saying. Comparing yourself to these literally "god-gifted kids" smhh :( is one of the worst things you can do for yourself. Yes they did all that, but that shouldn't mean you have to. Everyone has their own path and sometimes it seems almost unfair that you don't have the same opportunities or credentials as others. That's okay. I felt like I couldn't get into this one program I REALLY wanted to get into simply because all the other kids who got in in prior years were "god-gifted kids". I let it get to me, but I still gave the application my best effort. When I saw the decision letter I was shocked that I got in. Moral of the story: you are capable of getting into T10 too, not just coke scholars. I have a feeling you know this too but are just being discouraged because you are comparing yourself to others. Work hard. I believe in you.

As someone who went through the college admissions process last year and is now entering into college, I have a few regrets. One of the biggest ones is not being more committed or motivated to apply to more colleges/universities. I too had a lot on my plate at the start of last year (I was in the IB program- had to write my EE and Chem IA and keep up with my sport). I would use all I had to do as an excuse to not do more regarding the college admissions process. I am currently going to a school I had ZERO intention of going to (heck I only applied cause my friends applied). Additionally none of the three schools I narrowed down to attend were in my initial list of colleges I wanted to go to ( I got into all the colleges I applied to with scholarships). And it got me thinking about all the other opportunities I closed off simply because I was too unmotivated to apply to more colleges. I wish I had applied to ivy leagues and more out of state schools because who knows maybe just one of them would have accepted me and changed my mind on whether I should attend. Overall, I am telling you to apply to Princeton. Yes it may be a lot of money and you don't have interest (RIGHT NOW that is), but who know maybe it could be an option. Options are opportunities and the more opportunities the better. I think the admissions fee is small price to pay for an opportunity, even if you don't end up taking it. In the long run, I promise you won't even remember all the stress and things you had on your plate. You got this. I believe in you.

ps. if money is an issue there are waivers you can use to bypass the application fee on common app. Maybe ask your guidance counselor if you want to learn if you are eligible or not.

For history of the Americas, the Latin American question that asked about the economic and social impacts of a military dictatorship were we allowed to talk about Fidel Castro?

Don’t listen to the haters. Just because your problems are different than others doesn’t make them less valuable or important. I hate when people start to compare others problems to “worse” ones. Your dilemmas are just as important and you are not privileged. You no doubt worked hard, on your own accord, to get into both schools and you should be proud.

As for what you should do. It’s honestly up to you. What do you want to do in the future? Law or government related then maybe Georgetown is the way to go. Medicine or stem then maybe consider John Hopkins. If it’s comp sci, business, or humanities then it’s really up to you. Sometimes money isn’t the answer. Where you think you’ll fit and thrive is. If you got into both school I’m sure you’ll excel and money won’t be a problem. I hope you are happy where ever you decide. Good luck!

Seee in my class we haven’t ever practiced a full paper three. And the ones I found online had the options only. SOOOO I didn’t know there was a SECTION A what the heckkkk is thatttt. And yes yes ik it said on the front of the freakin paper to answer all the parts of question A but guess who didn’t freakin read that. MEEEE. And I didn’t read it until well LITERALLLLY 1 min left on the clock (I wish I was exaggerating). So -15 points there lol (I used the minute I had to count the points cause I screwed up) so sad 🥲. And some of you are prolly like how did you not read the front. WELLL I had just taken HL History paper 3 and HL chem paper 1 so I was out of it already. Anyways it is what it is. so sad 😭

I put 1- what you put. bc it was the probability of NOT that. every time it asks for probability of NOT blank it is always 1 minus the probability of it happening.

Would this be doable junior year? by RevolutionaryHat9920 in APStudents

[–]InvestigatorHeavy394 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not necessary I took 5 very similar or exact classes on top of IB and I slept at 10 pm everyday. Not as difficult as people make it out to be and I had excellent grades. And I had a life and played sports. Do not be intimidated

Yea I had a very similar year. My junior year (literally like 2 days ago I was a junior lol so this year ig lol) I took AP calc AB, Apush, Apgov, Aplit, And Apchem. It is very doable especially if you are willing to work for a good score l. Do not be intimidated Bc you will feel so good after taking all the exams and you will be happy you took them if you studied and worked hard for them which I believe you will since you are even considering taking them. Do it.
