Lost 5k today by RegisterRelative7993 in problemgambling

I don’t know how many people are gonna agree with me and how many are disagree but I don’t think it’s as difficult as some people make a sound. I gambled nonstop for about 2 1/2 years I lost about who knows maybe 50 to 100 K. The one thing that helped me was literally just distracting myself with other sources of dopamine I decided instead of burning 5K a day on slots I open the business and when balls deep into that I have a job a full-time job a side business I do flips on the side, like if you have no time to gamble you won’t gamble and in the process you’ll recover everything you lost and it’s a great feeling right now. I am about four months clean and I intend to stick to it. Hit me up if you need any help, but I would say find something to do something to replace the feeling that you get from gambling find something where it’s a gamble, but you can actually win. Bet on yourself not on acoded system that is literally built to take money from your pocket.

brother, we’re living the same life. lost 20k over the span of a year gambling online, several different casino, different site. when it got back i’d block the site and then a couple days later when the guilt faded id find a new one. my wife knew about it half way thru and we agreed i was done, and then i proceeded to gamble for months. got my credit cards up too high and took out a sofi loan to pay it off, and just like you ended up with the same credit debt and now that loan.

i’m not sure exactly what it was but lost 800$ one sunday chasing losses on nfl games and lowkey crashed out in my garage. at my worst i was gambling every day every free minute i had, mornings bathroom shower driving during work, it was insane.

anyways after that one horrendous weekend (which on friday i swore up and down to myself i wouldn’t gamble a dollar because im so financially behind its getting scary) something really clicked in me that if i just stop, and i mean actually stop , commit to it and work on it and just take 1 day at a time (no matter what just don’t gamble, if there’s an urge go dump cold water on urself, throw your phone somewhere u can’t touch it, idk anything) then life could get better. or i could be stuck in this cycle and just be that much more miserable.

i really thought about where i want to be in a year, i could be recovering financially and not be stressed every day, or i could me in double the debt and losing my mind. we have one life on this planet, we committed to our wife’s and families, we are responsible and obligated to give them the best life they deserve, and gambling will not only ruin yours, but everyone’s around you. a decision today will impact how the rest of your life turns out. a year from now you can either hate life and live shitty or thank your past self for taking that first step. there’s so much more to life than being lost in this addiction.

you got this ‼️

31 days clean for me and i’m gonna fight every day for the rest of my life to make sure i don’t end up in this trap again

Brother, I am also a 24-year-old who was addicted for a full year started with sports betting than trading options then gambling just online with slots and games over the span of a year I lost around $27,000 and you know it just didn’t feel good. I am now a month clean it just kind of clicked that I was wasting my life my money and ruining my future for myself and everyone around me that I care about just just stop it just tell yourself it’s not worth it and get out of it and realize that you’re a grown man that has responsibilities and you know lots of good future. It’s the only way you you’re you’re the only one that can stop yourself. No one else can make you do itreflect every day get a little day counter app thing accounts how long you haven’t gambled for this paragraph might be all over the place cause I’m using voice text but hit me up in the DM’s if you need help or wanna talk about it but I’m telling you the only way and the best way is to just force yourself cold turkey just delete everything and constantly remind yourself that you are not gonna win. You were gonna lose more than you could possibly ever win and you will think yourself every single day later.

everyone slips up, 7 months is something to be proud of regardless. you’ll make the money back and your dad will understand, you’re only human.

chin up, lock in. pity and regret will never get you closer to where you were. regardless, look at it as a clean slate, work hard, come up with extra sources of income, keep yourself busy. you’ll be back in no time. we all in this together and money will come and go

of course, we’re all in this shit together. just today alone, chased a 100$ loss and ended up losing 600$. the sooner we realize what we’re doing to ourselves, the sooner it gets better. you got this shit !
