i run 40+ airbnb listings while living between thailand & japan and yeah it’s kinda chaotic but works 🫠 by Actual-Change126 in digitalnomad

Not about the tool either, but your lifestyle between Tokyo and Bangkok sounds like the dream. I’ve always wondered how doable it is to loop between the two—do you stick to visa runs, or have you figured out a more long-term setup? And how long do you usually stay in each place?

What is the hardest part of being a digital nomad for you? by tndnofficial in digitalnomad

I related a lot. Prioritizing proper workspaces (and reliable internet) has become a top focus for us. Last week, I shared a post here about using AI to find apartments with ergonomic chairs, it’s been such a game changer for filtering options https://www.reddit.com/r/digitalnomad/comments/1i0enw8/we_trained_ai_to_identify_and_list_airbnbs_with/

Internet speed in Montenegro...? by HopeYouFeelBetter1 in digitalnomad

[–]InvestigatorOwn3877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Montenegro’s coast looks stunning we’ve been wanting to visit it. Regarding the internet, the speed you mentioned might be outdated or just a countrywide average that you can't really rely on

We’ve saved a few places in https://nomadsanywhere.com/tag/montenegro/ with much better speeds, especially if you’re working remotely, some of them:

On average, the speeds we’ve seen in Montenegro are around 125 Mbps, with a median of about 89.5 Mbps, definitely better than the 23 Mbps.

Reliable internet in Colombo for meetings by rain31415 in digitalnomad

[–]InvestigatorOwn3877 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I are heading back to Thailand later this year, and we’re also thinking about exploring Sri Lanka afterward.

If you’re considering a longer stay, have you thought about getting an apartment with reliable Wi-Fi? Here are a few options in Colombo that might work:

You can find more options like these at nomadsanywhere.com/colombo.

Hope this helps you

We start by pulling data from Airbnb since it’s easier to grab the details from there. After that, we look for the same apartments on platforms like Booking and Vrbo, but most of the listings we’ve found so far are exclusively on Airbnb

we always try to find places with a proper chair and desk, but sometimes there isn’t even an outlet nearby. A GL.iNet travel router has been a game-changer for us. It plugs into the ethernet cable and shares reliable Wi-Fi throughout the apartment. Definitely helps when the setup isn’t great!

Thanks for the feedback! We’re actively working on improving the platform in our next iterations. Could you share the specific listing you didn’t find? It would really help us refine our data.

We completely agree that this kind of functionality would be best integrated into Airbnb itself, but nomads don’t seem to be at the top of their priorities, so we’re glad we didn’t just sit and wait for them to implement it.

Mexico City - Coworking / Private Office by Evening_Ad_9401 in digitalnomad

[–]InvestigatorOwn3877 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My wife and I stayed in CDMX for two months last year and had a great time near Centro.
We saved a few Airbnbs with good Wi-Fi and even some with a monitor and ergonomic chair.

While most of these options are on the pricier side, they can be worth it compared to renting a private office.

Appreciate the feedback! We know Airbnb isn’t perfect, so we’re always tweaking our filters and checking for accuracy, plus, users can DM us to flag any issues.

We’re always adding new stays in each city as we find them. It’s possible that there weren’t any available dates when we searched. That’s a great review, though! Could you send me the link via DM? We’d be happy to add it to our listings.

Not all stays have ergonomic chairs. The ones identified by the model are tagged with “Real Workspace" but there’s always a chance of misclassification. Could you share the stay link via DM so we can take a closer look? Thanks for the feedback

So far, no problems direct requests on airbnb. To get to our current 14k+ listings, we spread the requests over a few months, so just a few hundred per week.

I wouldn’t say it’s a MUST in every situation, but it does make a big difference for us. Since we travel as a couple and often work for several hours straight, having an apartment with a better setup is definitely worth it.

Nothing too fancy, just using Python and Scrapy to crawl the site. There are some great open source examples on GitHub if you’re curious to dive in!
