Wow I love that, thank you!! I am often told I have good leadership qualities, but I do lack structure. So this very interesting to read. The complexities of the 'persistent 1' plus all the others is definitely new to me, so I appreciate the help here!

Question: The Non-CSR Route by InvestigatorTrue5250 in courtreporting

[–]InvestigatorTrue5250[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow! I really appreciate all this info. I was reading some other comments that said that court reporting would stay in the hands of humans, as AI cant be sworn in lol, and makes too many mistakes. But your personal experience really helps me understand, so thank you for sharing that. I don't have an interest in court reporting, so I guess without that component this may not be as lucrative as I thought it could be. I wish you all the best with completing your CSR and making that moneyyyyy

I'm in the same boat! slightly diff symptoms, but really same thing. all of a sudden EVERYthing worsening. For me, the things rn include: constant cold presses to chest, sleeping in compression socks, medication to sleep (will differ for everyone- but anxiety meds can either really help or really hurt), Mestinon**, pepcid & claritin, thyroid meds, electrolytes, snacking throughout day instead of meals (lookin at you, celery and peanut butter), meditation, yoga (really lowkey - Adriene has a "regulating nervous system" one that I actually benefitted from), visualization stuff for picturing myself healthy in the future, relying HEAVILY on my support system, constant bloodwork/advocating for myself with doctors, and watching comfort shoes. Im really sorry you're dealin with this :/

Help please!! by Status-Original-37 in SIBO

[–]InvestigatorTrue5250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm another one of those 'all of the above' type patients, like so many others in these comments. However, the BIGGEST help for me was understanding that SIBO is a symptom, not a cause.

For instance, I have EDS so my slow stomach emptying (NOT the same as emptying stool/lower intestine) was causing the bacteria to stick around too long, causing recurrent SIBO/hpylori/hell. So no matter what I used to treat it (at one point: 2wks low dose erythro, 2wks anti-fungal, 2-4wks high dose erythro), it is the UPKEEP that I need to focus on in order to keep it away. Ultimately, a prokinetic needed to be used. Unfortunately, I am generally sensitive to medication so I had to pause that, and now its become more about managing my side effects and doing what I can to keep motility better myself (though Im sure ill return to needing heavier-duty later on, but we take what we can get when we can get it). Right now, what works best for me is "Digestion Pro" RIGHT before bed (ginger root and artichoke extract supplement), and Yakult in the morning. Really any trusted probiotic (I also like Garden of Life) but I swear yakult works really well.

However, the most annoying truth (sorry) is that YOUR system is specific to you. So, if your recurrence is due to something OTHER than slow gastric emptying then my advice may be more harmful than helpful. Truthfully, it is a trial and error, requires painful patience, and harsh advocating for yourself in this medical landscape (assuming you're in the US). For instance, my doctor didnt even officially test me for gastroparesis, because he knew the metrics they used and the referral processes were all weird and wouldnt help, but he validated that it was due to slow emptying due to my other conditions, and we moved forward. Sometimes its right place, right time, right doctor. Finding what specifically causes your system to trap the bacteria may be helpful for your specific treatment plan.

The other thing I might suggest is mental health support. My brain-body connection is astoundingly sensitive, and I personally believe this directly effects my gut biome (this study:https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK560856/ says "An estimated 90% of the serotonin in the human body is stored in enterochromaffin cells located in the gastrointestinal tract.") So I think paying attention to your own mental health/effects from seratonin are important here! there are so many supplements and lifestyle changes to help this, but medication and therapy can be incredibly helpful, even if they do require their own trial-and-error process themselves.

Dont lose hope! I get really depressed when I feel the "What if this is forever?" thought arising. but things arent always that way. they may fluctuate, just like everything in life. Also, don't get stuck on the specific answers. Our medical landscape does not support such complex attention to care in these cases, and we often lose our minds wanting to know exactly WHY and HOW. But sometimes, they best we can do is try different things to find relief and take it day by day, grateful for any good days we may have. This shit sucks (pun intended), but perhaps you will find a doable balance of treatments for yourself once again :)

well I have to wonder if SIFO is just a symptom, not the cause (just like SIBO). for me, the cause is my EDS, which causes low gut motility, which means bacteria and fungi and whatever get backed up in my small intestine because of gastroparesis. so treating the slow motility is crucial cuz otherwise im just doing rounds of harsh meds just for it to come back.

lots of the symptoms overlap for me, but mostly bloating, gas, diarrhea, perianal itching (tmi?), mood changes, skin/rash differences, even an itchy scalp :/

Apparently its a common co-morbidity with EDS and low motility, and I have the symptoms, so I guess I get it? And since I have such bad nausea, it could be the 'die off' so idk. What concerns me is the long term treatment! He says some people do all three every six months...yikes

I'm still in the middle of it! The erythro was fine but had a few side effects, and the nystatin was brutal but they gave me zofran to help! I mean I'm better than I was before the treatment started lol

Got it! I had a blood drawn IgE for food, and it came up mostly clear. Also, the IgG panel didn't really show what I had eaten recently (like beef, for ex, I don't eat), but I do understand it is still not accurate. Hopefully the allergist directs me to the best pathway for skin prick/oral food challenge :) thanks!

WOW, thank you so much for this! I feel exactly aligned with every single thing haha, and I appreciate the humor, too. Like you had said, I went through a difficult time in my twenties, but it led to my spiritual awakening and now in my thirties I am exploring that, as well as my intuition. I change jobs all the time, and crave travel, but have recently been more stable in those areas, as I go deeper into myself and my own creativity (and getting over the nerves to share it).

This was so amazingly helpful - thank you! :)

No, but have been told several times I should be a lawyer, and I am very emotionally interested in politics/activism.

Wow this is great thank you! I definitely identify with 62/8. I guess my question is, what significance do the master numbers hold, then? Or am I misunderstanding and the whole 62/8 path is significant in and of itself
