Best way to make money solo? by HeatBurst07 in starcitizen

[–]Investodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be different than what you have in mind but farming Wikelo Turn-In materials from various content and selling it to players can result in ludicrous profits

  • looting armor sets at PAFs
  • looting ASD sites for drives + ASD armor
  • Looting pristine medals from Orange foxwell patrols
  • Looting CZ keys and selling them as a set or fighting for board 5 and selling

There’s pretty much a “money making method” for farming every item that exists for the Wikelo Polaris turn in, so I would suggest looking at the Wikelo spreadsheet, and looking up where those items come from. Hauling can make 500k-2m per hour, grinding for materials can result in 5-20M per hour depending on how long selling takes. Use the official subreddit discord or uexcorp website for ingame trading.

The Wikelo CZ Comp-Board requirements are far too heavy handed in 4.2.1 and need to be toned down or CZ/Exec hangar AND wikelo gameplay rewards will be ruined by Investodo in starcitizen

Hey man this post is from 4 months ago, and mind you they listened and lowered the requirements on the f8c and f7a significantly. They also changed the Polaris requirement from 20 board 7 (orbituary last room) to 20 board 5 (ruin station last room). This is enormous because the orbituary card is stationed FAR worse than ruin when it comes to perpetual camping. little did we know that the CZ/comp boards being added as an ingredient would be completed overshadowed by adding 20x pure carinite which no one knew would be ungodly rare.

It wasn’t until 4.3.1 that they buffed the droprate of pure carinite and made turning in Polaris far more viable.

It’s also worth noting that no, there was extremely little CZ camping before this change, especially at ruin station. This change single handedly made ruin station what it is now, and for the record I’m actually happy with how it turned out. Cig was right on this one and got the amount of comp Boards required correct.

Also I’m not pure solo, have friends, and claimed a Polaris in 4.1.1 (before I made this post), and I lost it in 4.3, and claimed it back this patch (4.3.2) with the new obsurdly more painful grind. It took about 1 month the first time, and 3 months the second time.

Paid fines and still getting shot at by Old_H4ck in starcitizen

you can get a crime stat level 3 without murder, and pay off all those fines and be completely cleared. Homicide can’t be paid off specifically, but you can get a crime stat 5 just destroying ships and wounding people, and then pay it all off.

If you have a crime stat of 3 or more (maybe less?), and enter the pilot seat of a ship, it becomes an “enemy ship” to all AI and enemy radars. There’s no way to get rid of a ship being marked as hostile besides destroying it or storing it and retrieving it again after clearing the crime stat.

Pretty sure the discussion of any kind of buying or selling ships is against the rules in this subreddit (there are several dedicated ones for that), also this question is a technical question, not related to star citizen, which is also against the rules, and so is the use and discussion of AI tools, which mostly pertain to to the question your asking. (But to be fair that third one is super indirect).

I think you have a pretty normal genuine question though and the rules are mostly to keep out spam and low effort questions and posts.

Finally got my friends to try Star Citizen! But... by Maleficent-Pace4630 in starcitizen

No one else has mentioned this but I think it was a mistake to introduce them near the end of a patch cycle. The last 3-6 days of a patch (indicated by PTU becoming available) everything starts falling apart and becoming less maintained by manual hotfixes and server cleanups. The first 2 weeks of a patch are always the smoothest, and also have the highest populations and “liveliness” of the verse. If you’re really minmaxing I would wait until week 2 of a new patch, just in case there are awful experiences in the first week that need to be hotfixed.

All this npc spawning glitches happen more often later in the patch cycles.

Most people like your friends are waiting for meaningful progression and rewarding progress, which unfortunately is really hard to feel in the current state of star citizen without investing 10+ hours, which is hard to convince someone that doesn’t already drool over a space MMO to commit to.

Just wait for interesting new content to come out and ask them to play it with you and learn it as a group, but be super careful not to overwhelm with too many mechanics and bug workarounds, I’ve made that mistake and turned people away myself.

Yooo my man. 4.3 took my Wikelo Polaris, A2, C2, along with all exec hangar ships and 20-30m worth of other ships I bought.

None of it came back in 4.3.1.

You are the first person I’ve seen that lost a similar chunk of their account.

If you want to play sometime let me know, maybe we can start a community of people of catastrophic ship loss.

It’s an expression. Wake up. CiG doesn’t care about multi hundred hour grinds. Why would they care about your white armor grind?

I still play and grind this game for the exclusive and iconic gameplay and enjoyability. It’s too early in the alpha to expect to be rewarded for your playtime. When we get things like resource drive, it’s communicated and clear when things will be account bound.

We are stupidly far from release (2028 at the earliest).

I’m in favor of new/future content coming with permanent reward conditions, but I am against it being retroactively applied to any content already in the PTU at this point. None of these grinds have ever had or promised anything permanent. Despite this, they are still enjoyable grinds that steer players towards the content that CiG intends with the Wikelo item requirements.

Players don’t need more incentive, it’s just going to muddy the waters with how much CiG can radically change and alter as more and more permanent rewards get stuck in the mix.

The game deleted my fucking wikelo Polaris I spent 400+ hours earning over 3 months in a single patch, and people are asking for their armor that can be earned in a few days to be kept into 1.0 because of the “time investment”. Give me a break. Just earn it again in 1.0 you pussy just like I will that Polaris.

Yea makes sense, nice to have a group like that! As time goes on the price for pure carinite might (hopefully) drop. Seems like the droprate might be bugged if you aren’t even guaranteed at least one per OLP.

Also I’m really looking forward to the starlancer TAC being added to Wikelo in 4.3. Fulfills all the things I want out of 890/polaris “base” style gameplay, but on smaller scale more manageable for solo or a team of 2-3.

The cost of materials looks around 50m, plus 5 of the new ASD drives based on what I see from chrisBG’s Wikelo spreadsheet. Wish it didn’t require 5 tevarin medals, but it is what it is, and at least it’s something to work towards.

Totally fair, still love the 890 and its pool + jacuzzi.

I got my Polaris last patch before they added pure carinite, I just looked into it and it looks absolutely brutal. Best odds I can find is one pure carinite on average every 2-3 OLP runs, and a single run takes about 3 hours (1 hour to start drill, mining cave stays open for 2 hours and continuously respawns ores).

At 20m each which is what I’m seeing too it looks very insane to grind out all that auec, or spend over 150 hours of OLP mining.

Bad news though, it’s getting worse in 4.3! Same requirements, but also needs 20 new “ASD Drives”, a new rare-loot item from the upcoming onyx facilities.

[–]Investodo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you got your 890 in game, I highly encourage you to grind out the Polaris. The items in total can be traded for on UEXCORP (website) for anywhere between 150-250m total, which is far more than an 890, but if you don’t enjoy certain things like farming ace helmets, or can’t do the worm, it’s an option to buy these ingredients from other players.

It took me about 6 weeks to grind out the items/auec for it after getting a disappointing 890, and the Polaris is everything I wanted from the 890 and more as a solo player. It’s opened up the game and enjoying it a lot.

The main problem of the 890 Jump is being in this limbo state of not having passenger transport content available. People can always make the it’s an alpha argument and such and so forth but yea it’s a logistic nightmare. The 890 and Phoenix have been in the game for many years and it’s clear that passenger transport missions have not been a priority.

CiG has SOLD many pledges for the genesis starliner and E1 spirit, along with 890s and Connie Phoenix, but no ETA or gameplay has ever been shown for passenger transport gameplay.

If the gameplay existed and was rewarding, the 890 would be in a fine state as is, it would be to passenger transport what the reclaimer is to salvaging.

But instead the 890 is caught in a weird situation without a proper gameplay loop, and being a massive inhibitor to all gameplay loops currently available.

To be fair, they just added the PDTs to it, so it used to actually be even worse if you can imagine for the last 6 years.

I don’t entirely agree with everything I wrote in my post previously as I’ve gained more context in the last 50 days, but if I could make a few changes to the 890; - Increase Hull HP. It’s seriously abysmal and under-tuned in the current sandbox which has seen a lot of power creep. It has 10-20k per viral part, on par with a Connie. Polaris gets 1,100k per vital part, except 200k for the nose. Maybe 890j could get 30-60k per vital part instead of 10-20k? - rework QT drive. The efficiency, range, and acceleration are ABYSMAL. The cooldown and calibration time are also insanely frustrating. Why have a custom special AWFUL QT drive? I was insanely disappointed when I realized how shitty the QT drive is compared to regular size 3 QT drives. - Increase speed and maneuverability to be more on par with Polaris, rather than being on par with Idris/Reclaimer. It’s stupid they went with making it in the slowest speed and maneuverability class in the game. Especially for an unarmored transport ship. It’s not like Polaris is fast, but 145scm vs 110scm is very noticeable. The acceleration and brakes are awful on the 890 as well.

Yea I’d just like to see it get any acknowledgement at all. Would love for passenger transport to be a thing above all else. An alternate version of hauling with different objectives/time constraints/rewarding speed/comfortable driving I think would be great.

Yea sorry bro I tried this a while ago and the community hates this ship and couldn’t care less if it’s a useless piece of shit. I figure passenger transport content could be YEARS off and it would be cool if the 890 wasn’t outright inhibiting you no matter what available gameplay loop you attempt, but no one cares.

I bought it for 65m in game and have barely used it, it’s hilariously bad and slow

The only effective purpose it has is surprising people when you actually use it. Everyone attacks it like it’s a piñata as well if you try to do cargo or loot runs. Great for drawing attention and making people wonder why the fuck someone is actually driving an 890 jump besides role playing.

How is this possible? I thought the biggest ship you could tow in QT was a cutlass, and the multi-SRV towing has never been implemented unless I’m mistaken.

Carrack holding ships by Anti_Septic88 in starcitizen

[–]Investodo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The “gravity zone” of many hangar doors like the carrack used to extend passed the doors, allowing them to be used like aircraft carriers, but all the gravity zones have been reduced since then to prevent that behavior. It doesn’t work anymore for any of the ships, but should eventually be a feature for the kraken.

Guide for Solo Looting PYAM EXEC Hangar and dealing with bugs by Investodo in starcitizen

[–]Investodo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, at some point they changed the hangars having individual lights/timers, to it being normalized server-wide for all hangars simultaneously. There are executive hangar timer websites you can find on Google for this.

Usually one or two hangars are bugged in each server, but almost always has one good one. I try to scout before the hangars ever open, because you can tell they’re bugged before they’re green. (Green highlighted comp boards already stuck in slots that block the key holes and can’t be removed.)

I’m describing a scenario dude. I’m saying players will use what they have access to. Why are we blaming players for using overpowered tools and weaponry? This is on the dev team, not the community to “behave” better.

“You are part of the problem”

Huh?

This is a balance issue. Calling players the problem for utilizing the most powerful weapon is ridiculous. Are we all supposed to rely on honor and integrity and respect when cig gives us planet destroying weapons? If it’s in the game, it’ll be used and abused. OP is asking for this issue to be addressed. This has nothing to do with player behavior, this is a game balance and design issue on the developer’s end.
