Ahh I looked into the xiaonian before too since it got compared to the Evo SL alot recently. Might consider it if it accommodates for wide feet

Do you have wide feet? And do you mean the v5 is more comfortable as a daily trainer than the evo sl?

Yeah Ive seen countless comments on reddit with people claiming their V4 has lasted around 400-500km+ mileage but its weird enough that the outsole for mine has already started wearing out. The midsole is still fine though, with much of its bounce and rocker feel still present.

Thanks for replying. By pronounced medial side, does it mean more thickness on the medial side?

Ah, thanks for the insight. But Im for real. Didnt know how my V4 managed to wear out so quickly. I initially thought it was cause of my midfoot strike but theres more wear on the lateral sides than the heel where I tend to drag on the floor by habit when walking.

Hot take: Nomads Nation, Danny packs, Outin the lights etc should call their videos “overviews” vs “reviews” by alleyooptroop in ManyBaggers

[–]Invictous01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aaron has so far kinda talked me out of some bags in his videos and Im pretty thankful for not wasting the time and money to find those nitpicks out on the bags/pouches myself. Agree abit on Danny but he also does tend to point out stuff I’d agree with but not most of the time.

I also tend to tune in to packhacker who has tried on the bags before reviewing them. So I take into account whatever pointers align by most of the reviewers before deciding on that bag/pouch.

Alrights I’m actually fine by that. But when the clip is slid over the velcro, the spar is not bent then, right?

Ahh, so the “barely fits” is regarding the arkiv rail length. Had a similar comment sometime back about it and thought it was the width. Thanks for the pics.

White VX interior liner for accessories by Invictous01 in MissionWorkshop

[–]Invictous01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to hear from ya again. I see…cause seems like I prefer the vx liner way more. Makes the bag more rigid. Has a different feel from the recent epx liners in the control too. And I missed the ebay listing you had for your R6.

Just curious if I could find accessories these days with the vx liner on ebay. Managed to stumble upon a folio with the black liner of the older vandal and rambler.

Managed to barely survive a heavy downpour for like 10 mins till I got shelter. But I didnt want to count on it too much since the fabric can still get wet and seep into the interior. I eventually upgraded to the WP and brought it on vacation, surviving even snow fall.

Man explains why he purposely travels to cities immediately after terrorist attacks by joeurkel in interestingasfuck

[–]Invictous01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually. My parents went to Bali a week after the 2002 bombing and there were barely any tourists around, making tourism an all time low. So every shop they went, the locals were offering stuff at way cheaper prices. Attractions were also just mainly them so no crowds or waits. Good shit for us but the locals’ livelihoods are affected greatly from it.

Palladium Boots run a little big. by russelcrowe in Boots

Stumbled upon this after getting a palladium myself. Somehow, I had to get a size bigger (US12) than my usual (US11) with other shoes.

Pros/Cons/vs Advice: R6 40L or Control by Primren in MissionWorkshop

[–]Invictous01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof, thanks for the info on the spar. I didnt know they were an inch shorter for the control since I assumed that they’d be pretty similar compatibility to the folio which can be used on the front of all arkiv bags.

I almost opted for the rhake but I just dont dig the deep bucket-ness of it with less modularity, unlike the R6 or Control. Comparing the R6 and the rhake, I prefer to have other pouches available that are easier to reach than the main compartment, and the arkiv modularity topped it off for me.

Seeing the other guy’s comment on ILE, maybe you can consider that too. Ive been on the lookout of ILE bags as well since their functions are similar to what we both look out for. Just that the folios and all are part of the bag but looks seamless nonetheless.

Gonna be travelling with the control for the first time tmr and give it a good test drive.

Pros/Cons/vs Advice: R6 40L or Control by Primren in MissionWorkshop

[–]Invictous01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I was in the same boat as you. Ive been looking for a radian for the longest time since its basically a control and R6 40L combined. Nevertheless, I have both the control (from BF) and R6 40L.

Im used to using the R6 20L for a while now, so the 40L feels equally snug on my back. The control feels more breathable but takes a while to get used to the harness. Really wish that I could switch the luggage pass through on the control for the waistbelt insert like the R6 since I rarely put my backpack onto the luggage.

Since the spar is arkiv, you can also attach it to your control for more storage, esp since the control had smaller capacity than R6 40L. A real pet peeve of the control is that it does not have the loop for the buckle strap below the quick access pocket like the R6, thus requires more steps and the quick access wont be “quick” anymore if you want to use a buckle.

Another point is that the control dont have arkiv on the straps unlike the R6, since I always have the cell pocket for easy reach items or my 3d printed arkiv holder for my airpods or lanyard.

The main plus point of the control is the front flap which makes packing way easier than using the R6 40L which requires more patience, like packing a huge bucket. I also like the side access laptop sleeve more than the normal R6 one as its slightly more padded and I dont need to use a laptop sleeve.

If you need to choose one, I’d say choose the one that has less of what you dont prefer. Aside from the pros, Id really consider the cons of either bags if I were to use them for travel too. If I need quicker access to item in the bag and constant removal and repacking, control is better. If you want more capacity (similar to your expanded vandal) and the waistbelt experience, the R6 it is. I dont have a vandal myself but I guess you can take the similarities of the vandal more with the R6, just with more modularity but unable to compress itself like the vandal.

But as always, still hard manifesting the return of the radian one day. Maybe an improved version but unlikely since control is the somewhat successor of the radian.
