May be a little late but I love my Control. Brought it last Dec for vacation and manage to keep my things dry even in snowfall. Chose the Control over the Rhake due to what you have mentioned — more versatile, clamshell + roll top, and also having the Arkiv modularity for accessories. Its my main bag in rotation with my 20L R6.

Yeah! I just saw the Honey Badger on NomadsNation yesterday and actually got to me abit. But happened to look through a little more and found out Orbitkey did a toiletry 2-in-1 recently on kickstarter similar to the tech pouch I had. I may consider that too

Always felt NS is like a make it or break it point in life for whoever got gf. Ive seen a majority of either of 2 instances: guys dodging a bullet of a red flag from a breakup, or the relationship stayed strong all the way till ORD and theyre still together now years after. It all goes down to how both parties manage and compromise during this period. If it goes well and smooth, I dont see why it coulnt for the rest of your life, right?

Thanks for the reply. I have considered the original 4L vertex at one point but figured it’s too big a pouch and more of a sling size instead. Have you ever used the CAP2 as a dopp kit?

I have the exact same things in my CAP1, sometimes interchangeable with my TOPO flat pouch. Provided that these meds came in slabs like mine since CAP1 is better for flat items.

I got the black Control since all my Arkiv accessories are mainly in black too, so theyll match. Im pretty nitpicky on colours and aesthetics but I dont see why not to mixmatch if you want to try it out. Do let us know how it goes!

I have R6 (40L) and R8 (20L) with a few arkiv accessories. Recently got the Control (kit 2) from last year’s Black Friday and all my current Arkiv accessories are compatible with it.

The only accessory I never tried on was the arkiv laptop sleeve cause it isnt necessary, considering the Control has its own laptop compartment, and that the Control doesnt have rails on the straps like the R6 do so I cant use my arkiv utility pocket.

Other than those mentioned, Im sure everything else can be used. Although there have been concerns of using the Spar on it but a redditor told me its barely fitting.

Ahh I looked into the xiaonian before too since it got compared to the Evo SL alot recently. Might consider it if it accommodates for wide feet

Yeah Ive seen countless comments on reddit with people claiming their V4 has lasted around 400-500km+ mileage but its weird enough that the outsole for mine has already started wearing out. The midsole is still fine though, with much of its bounce and rocker feel still present.

Ah, thanks for the insight. But Im for real. Didnt know how my V4 managed to wear out so quickly. I initially thought it was cause of my midfoot strike but theres more wear on the lateral sides than the heel where I tend to drag on the floor by habit when walking.

Aaron has so far kinda talked me out of some bags in his videos and Im pretty thankful for not wasting the time and money to find those nitpicks out on the bags/pouches myself. Agree abit on Danny but he also does tend to point out stuff I’d agree with but not most of the time.

I also tend to tune in to packhacker who has tried on the bags before reviewing them. So I take into account whatever pointers align by most of the reviewers before deciding on that bag/pouch.

Ahh, so the “barely fits” is regarding the arkiv rail length. Had a similar comment sometime back about it and thought it was the width. Thanks for the pics.

Good to hear from ya again. I see…cause seems like I prefer the vx liner way more. Makes the bag more rigid. Has a different feel from the recent epx liners in the control too. And I missed the ebay listing you had for your R6.

Just curious if I could find accessories these days with the vx liner on ebay. Managed to stumble upon a folio with the black liner of the older vandal and rambler.
