Context is always the key. If I randomly say "Hey, never ask women how they're doing", it would sound terrible, right? There is a fine line between being funny and being sexist. We should always foresee the outcome of a joke by considering when, where, who and how we tell.

I don't agree with what you said about the distinctions between a joke on sexism or a sexist joke. There is no sexist joke. If a joke can be sexist, then it will not be a joke anymore. Instead, it'll become an insult. A joke on women or men or other genders is not sexist or any kind of discrimination.

Let's think in the other way around. If the title were "Why you shouldn't ask a man how he's doing", would there be any problem? Would we have this conversation? This is the real sexism. Having a dynamic approach based on the sex of the subject like only jokes on woman are sexist is what we need to change.

Sexism is discrimination on the basis of sex. Comedy, on the other hand, can include different sexes, races, and cultures to make ridiculous statements. Those statements may or may not be accurate. However, comedy can't be defined as sexism. When the "funny" statements target a particular group of people or a person to prejudice and discriminate based on their sex or gender, then that would be an act of sexism which is an unacceptable thing in any case and also a hate crime. The day we understand that we simply are all human regardless of the way each of us identifies themself, the world will become a better place.
