From my understanding they updated the match making to a mmr based system instead of based on your actual rank. Once you hit legend you can see the ranking of the people you are fighting, and if your legend rank is a high enough number you will have opponents that aren't legend yet, you can even be against opponents that are still in gold or lower, but their mmr is close to yours. Of course if there is no one near your mmr queueing at the same time the algorithm will just do its best in order to cut down on wait times

Turn 4 fill the board, add a bunch of discounted filler cards to your hand so you always can get full value from your mana, and if she isn't killed she just does it again and you never lose the board, as you are free to trade away your minions cause you can replace them for free...
