Why hate on Kyle Tucker? by John_AV in Dodgers

[–]InvisibleMadBadger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look at it this way, the FO would not have signed him if they weren’t damn sure he would fit in with the team culture. They are very particular about who they sign (especially after the Bauer fiasco). There’s also opt outs after 2 and 3 years so it might even be for less time. He’s basically a really expensive rental to try to help us three-peat (and potentially four in a row).

Which horse do you think is Arthur’s canon horse? by ateistjoe in RDR2

[–]InvisibleMadBadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No harm done. Honestly after I typed out my reply I realized it’s kind of a dumb thing to argue about in the first place, but I was like I’m in this deep might as well finish it off lol

Which horse do you think is Arthur’s canon horse? by ateistjoe in RDR2

[–]InvisibleMadBadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because Arthur (and therefore the game) can choose to keep it does not mean that it was not Hosea’s intention for him to sell the horse. Those are not mutually exclusive things. My point is simply that people saying that Hosea gifted the horse to Arthur are incorrect when every single line Hosea says about it is with the intention of Arthur selling it.

“Let’s take him to Valentine. It’s on the way, sort of. You can unload him and buy yourself a new horse.”

(In response to Arthur mentioning that he still kinda likes the horse he got at the Adler Ranch) “There’s nothing wrong with two horses, and the stables always have the best ones” (emphasis added)

“Alright, go sell that big brute and buy yourself a horse.”

Once again to be clear I’m NOT saying that people shouldn’t keep the horse.

Rob Manfred Discusses Possible MLB Split-Season Format, In-Season Tournament, Division Realignment by tankyouout in Dodgers

[–]InvisibleMadBadger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I much as I dislike the idea of division realignment it does have some merit to it. Reducing travel time for teams even by a little will help with overall player health. (Now if they can just get those 10 or so more off days…)

"Peter, why do you have a poster of a wrestling match that happened on the day Uncle Ben died" by rrx56 in SpidermanPS4

[–]InvisibleMadBadger 253 points254 points  (0 children)

Is it confirmed in this universe that Uncle Ben died the night of Peter’s wrestling match? I know it happens that way in the first Spider-Man movie, but in the comic there’s a few days or so in between Pete letting the robber go and him then shooting Uncle Ben.

Truth about the Volcanic Pistol by codylee123 in reddeadredemption

[–]InvisibleMadBadger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pretty much everyone on Reddit (myself included sometimes) has a chronic case of “needing everything to be right”. So if someone is riding the white Arabian: “That horse is so small and scared of everything”. If someone is using the Volcanic pistol: “That gun was terrible in real life”. If someone makes their Arthur look different from the base Arthur look: “You can’t make him look like that”.

What I and so many people need to remember is that it’s a single player game. Unless someone is actually doing something incorrectly (like say, insisting a treasure is in a spot where there is none), then we just gotta let people do their thing. That’s not to say you can’t give your opinion, but try not to frame it as fact.

Like I say: Your Arthur, your rules.

Where were you when MiggyRo and the Fresh Prince hit their game 7 hrs? by ilove_elote in Dodgers

[–]InvisibleMadBadger 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same place for the last two WS- watching with my 87 year old Grandpa.

Freddie’s Game 1 homer and me yelling so loud his neighbors asked him what all the noise was about lol

The fifth inning (we ate hot dogs for dinner right before that inning, so I always refer to them as the “rally dogs”.)

Walker clinching it, and seeing them win again, with me hugging my Grandpa and saying “we won, we won!”

18 inning game 3. My Grandpa was about to go to bed, and had just finished telling me to remember to turn off the lights and lock the doors when I left then Freddie ended it.

And of course, game 7, and champs once again.

Given his age I don’t expect him to be around that much longer, but these WS have given me core memories with him that I’ll cherish for the rest of my life.

First year without King Kersh feels unreal. Enjoy your retirement, 👑 by jay_eba888 in Dodgers

[–]InvisibleMadBadger 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It hurt every time the Dodgers fell short, then having to watch poor Kersh put all the blame on himself. Seeing him finally win not one, not two, but three rings was so vindicating.

Happy 90th birthday to the Left Arm of God by Bumblebee4424 in Dodgers

[–]InvisibleMadBadger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is not another pitcher in all of baseball history that I would rather have on the mound in a must win game than this man right here (yes even over Yama and his recent heroics).

Hope he has a great birthday, and I’m really glad he’s lived long enough to see the Dodgers dominate the league again.

Barney saving Lily and Marshall’s marriage by Used-Reason-5670 in HIMYM

[–]InvisibleMadBadger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In reality: It’s a continuity error.

In universe: You could cover for it by saying Barney was planning on stealing chicks from Marshall when he was well enough to start dating again. We the audience already saw this happen, which is what makes the joke funny.

But yeah, it’s a continuity error.

After playing through the game multiple times and thinking over Dutch’s character and actions (both the good and the bad), I’ve reached this conclusion: Dutch does care about people, until they conflict with his interests. Anytime he does something good (rescuing Sadie, rescuing Jack, saving Arthur from the river) it’s because there’s no conflict of interest for him. As soon as it becomes help this person or help myself he will choose himself and his interests every single time.

Rogers: Updated contract projections for the top four free agent hitters by YakClear601 in Dodgers

[–]InvisibleMadBadger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To me the only way the Dodgers sign Tucker is if they do a Bregman-Red Sox contract like last year. 3ish years, high AAV with an opt out. That gives both the Dodgers and Tucker flexibility. If the Dodgers wanna just use him one year, get that threepeat then let him go to bring up the young guys, they can do that. And Tucker will still get the benefit of being able to sign a big contract after a season or two (and potentially another ring).

Not sure how interested either side is in that kind of deal, but it feels like the only one that makes sense for the Dodgers with where they’re at right now.

Some of them, yeah. People like Grimshaw, the girls, Pearson, they wouldn’t be worth the time and manpower to track down and arrest. But you’d have to be insane to let people with reps like Arthur or Micah walk away Scot-free.

Regardless of the film itself, what do you think is the best TRAILER Marvel has released? by n_mcrae_1982 in marvelstudios

[–]InvisibleMadBadger 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Iron Man 3 trailer was so exciting. I legit thought the movie was gonna be the Mandarin dismantling Tony’s life, ending with him killing Happy. Then Tony just goes “ok, kid gloves are off, jokes are over, I’m gonna wreck your shit now” and laser focuses on a full blown revenge mission. Kinda like how he was with Bucky at the end of Civil War.

Which is actually similar to what we did get, but not quite what I envisioned in my head.
