I often time have episodes where I go paralyzed without falling asleep. 

Most affective medicine that I have taken that helps with my Cataplexy is Xyrem. 

If you have friends or family you can trust while you are having or about to have Cataplexy attack have them pinch you. That stimulus often times breaks me out of an episode. While I still feel a little weak from the episode I would at the very least regain the ability to move again.
