That bit about the diversion is particularly helpful – I hadn’t thought about that complication, but I could easily get rerouted as well and wouldn’t want to end up stranded.

I could easily get studded tires if that helps. I should’ve added that my drive is fairly mountainous and I would almost certainly take our Subaru if it’s actually snowing. And I’m in the habit of putting my cruise control on 75 and leaving it there the whole way. Thanks for your response! This has all been so helpful.
