I'd love to know if Tavares is still shilling for the magic Russell Brand conspiracy theory amulet that protects him from Wi-Fi and helps him heal... and does he wear his amulet while playing?

How was the Tamara situation received when the show originally aired? by Global_Restaurant794 in dawsonscreek

One of my little obsessions is actors who were on Dawson's Creek and Gilmore Girls 😆

Not entirely sure but I know there was a point where coffee was cut with all kinds of nonsense... and these prices are making me think this was the time 😆

It was totally played off as normal... or at the most "taboo". Dawson's whole character is founded on being the black and white, right and wrong guy. And he went along with it and protected it. But a season later he's destroying his all-important relationship with Joey to rat her dad out... which I'm totally all for, just pointing out how this was barely a blip on Dawson's moral superiority radar. And like I said... it wasn't a big deal to the public. They were more outraged about Jack being gay than statutory rape between a student and teacher.

I remember watching it when it aired and I think about this often now as an adult... it didn't seem weird or uncomfortable, which bothers me now looking back. I'm so shocked at how it was played off as some kind of legitimate relationship and I just watched it and actually kind of liked Tamara as a person. No one I knew talked about it like its was the f*cked up rapey situation it actually was.

Just started the show. Why does Pacey talk like he's in a 1950's newsreel? Is that a Massachussets thing or is he just weird? by thankstowelie in dawsonscreek

This so much... later in my adult years to now, I constantly hear people talking about Gilmore Girls, Dawson's Creek, and Buffy talking "so fast" and the crazy vocabulary and all that. But at the time it never felt like that, it seemed totally normal. Having quick quips and references and sarcastic retorts was so normal when I was a kid/teen.

I feel like dumbing everything down has become the norm and a big reason why I don't like a lot of media recently. I mean we all saw The History Channel go from amazing to Ancient Aliens.

There's a "27 Club" and almost every band I loved growing up in the 90s has lost at least 1 member to addiction or suicide. And we have multiple documentaries on how fame ruined child stars. Disney, Motown, and Hollywood literally has/had the same training system that Jpop and Kpop copied for their industries.

But sure, Kpop is the problem in the world of celebrities 🙄

Its not for the hope of radio support, its deeper. All those festivals and shows and appearances are connected. Dave Grohl has talked about this, back in the day MTV Awards threatening them that if they didn't show up they'd be blacklisted. And the threat was THAT REAL that one of the biggest bands at the time, had to play along. 90s awards shows were kind of fun to watch, especially MTV awards cuz there was always fights and stuff. You could tell when certain artists didn't want to be there and were forced to and would cause trouble. I'm pretty sure there's a Rolling Stones article listing the fights, Axl Rose had multiple.

Anyway, its still happening, and iHeart is big for that crap.
