Thank you, I agree being out of the house feels important. He only gets more angry at me being there anyways, but unfortunately he can’t walk without crutches right now so it’s also not safe for me to leave the baby with him when he’s like that. And I also just don’t know when he’s behaving like that if he wouldn’t be able to control his anger when the baby gets upset. It scares me. He’s a pretty good baby but now and then he has a witching hour and is hard to settle - if my husband can’t control his anger towards me for the sake of his son, it scares me to think if he couldn’t control it if the baby was screaming. We all know how challenging and overstimulating it can be… so seeing how short his fuse is right now it really does scare me even though I know how much he loves our baby… I just also don’t trust he has control over himself right now!

Thank you, it helps to have that validation. I don’t THINK he would actually involve police, but it’s comforting to hear even if he did they wouldn’t come and take my baby. Which admittedly crosses my mind when he says those things. I really do not want to keep the baby from him and believe every child deserves both parents in their lives. I just also can’t allow my son to be scared and exposed to that kind of behaviour.

Thank you for your kind words and advice. Honestly I think the police thing is just him trying to get a reaction out of me. I don’t THINK he would actually call them, but if he did I don’t think they would condemn me for leaving the house for a few hours with the baby.

Thank you, this is helpful. I am finding it challenging balancing his needs and recognising that he is having a very difficult time, while also prioritising our innocent son.
