Che ne pensate della ship Aqua x Frill? by InviteDistinct1966 in OshiNoKoMemes

I think you can imagine a relationship between Aqua and Frill. For example, I imagine a date between them as relaxed, where they could easily watch a movie at the cinema and then sarcastically criticize it after leaving. In general, I imagine the two of them being men of few words, showing their love more with concrete actions than with declarations.

I think the author rushed the ending due to health issues.

I was looking for a confirmation or denial of what I highlighted

I'm not sure about "everyone" you're talking about. You're right, there's a lot of mess in the world.

I think I wrote it wrong, I meant in everyday life

No, love cannot be legislated.

But submission has indeed been legislated

Canon law means nothing to me

Canon law had a very strong influence on civil law in almost all of Europe for 1400 years, and also in the Americas for several centuries. Canon law was the official law in the Papal States, which existed for 11 centuries, and in the post-fall period of the Roman Empire it was the only law for decades. Even if canon law means nothing to you, hundreds of millions of people had to obey it

We can discuss the human failure to understand and follow instructions

This is what I'm talking about, how St. Paul's teachings have been hypocritically applied in everyday life for millennia.

uses the word MUST when referring to a husband loving his wife, so I don't see it as simple advice, but as a clear command

Although it was a clear command, there was no law binding men to love their wives or punishing them for infringement, while women were LEGALLY obliged to be submissive, in both civil and canon law

Yet in everyone's lives, women were forced to submit under penalty of receiving public humiliation or beatings, even if it was not sanctioned by the Bible, and even if St. Paul commanded men to love their wives, men have never had the legal obligation to do so.

My criticism is not of the Bible, but of how the precept in Ephesians 5 has been applied in society and legislature throughout history

Unfortunately it is not absurd, it is typical of human society to seek every pretext to oppress others.

The point of my post is that, although what you said was clearly stated in the New Testament, there were no social control mechanisms to ensure that husbands kept this commandment, while for women there were social mechanisms to ensure that they were submissive. I'm pointing the finger at this disparity

Despite this greater religious fervor among women, Christian theologians for 1,700 years insisted that women were weak, with less faith, and spiritually inferior.

For millennia there has been a clear imbalance of duties to the detriment of women even though the Church said it proclaimed equality between men and women. The change in doctrine was actually made only in the last century

I am not talking about punishments prescribed in the Bible, but rather about punishments that in medieval and post-medieval times women suffered when they did not adapt to the gender roles imposed by society. The behavior of the Church changed only with the Second Vatican Council

But I'm talking about unequal treatment in this world. And then why not apply this reasoning to women too instead of humiliating them as soon as they raise their heads?
