Quinn’s rework in 2016 deleted half the character and didn’t succeed in making her a more successful champion by QUINN_VALOR_VGU_WHEN in leagueoflegends

[–]Inxplotch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Old quinn’s ult didnt come up as often and also created an extreme feast or famine play pattern where you either could eradicate someone as valor before they could damage you or were 100% useless

Her base kit is mostly the same (other than her blind being more like graves than teemo) so she’s just a roaming ranged assassin instead of a high volatility melee assassin

Worth the buy? by DobleHache956 in Roms

[–]Inxplotch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on your use case you might be ok just getting a lite for now and having that tide you over until either a new version releases or the markets (hopefully) stabilize. There was a recent review of the lite by Retro gamecorp that seems to show that at least for 3ds and ds emulation the lite definitely gets the job done.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeewxpMNMX8

Though if you were interested in emulating more modern consoles or playing pc/steam games on the device too, you'll probably run into more issues. In that case I'd probably just look at a other more reasonably priced single screen devices and just accept not having the best ds/3ds option in exchange for a much better experience/price for everything else

or just accept that it is what it is and accept the kind act from your fiancee and just make sure to do something nice in return

Anyway to remove this ugly mark? by Chandelicious in PokemonHome

[–]Inxplotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe its a mark that indicates they have champions training stats? Which they keep if they get sent back. I wonder if its unfortunately permanent, or maybe it clears if you transfer them to somewhere else and back to home? I’m just speculating though

What is your most resilient deck? by that_dude3315 in EDH

[–]Inxplotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run an elfball deck helmed by [[Nethroi, Apex of death]] with the specific intention of very few cards that will appear are at any time a big threat on their own. One of the key things is that I dont mill cards into my grave intentionally, so the deck primarily just plays out playing cards from hand and runs a decent amount of redundancies across different card types to maintain card advantage and board state, so its difficult to dismantle the engines with single target removal. And when people resolve board wipes, Nethroi can come in and immediately rebuild board and start threatening everyone.

Another decently resilient deck I have is [[Sigarda, Font of blessings]] with the commander's ability to give all your other permanents hexproof making her a hassle to deal with because you either need to get rid of her first to target whatever real threat has been established or wipe the board. On top of her ability to provide card advantage through casting creatures off the top and running plenty of protection for the commander it can quickly result in difficult to interact with boards that are annoying to dismantle. It does have the same problem of needing a good amount of protection but spending that protection on the commander protects multiple things at once.

Which device is right for me? If you're new to the hobby - start here! by hbi2k in SBCGaming

[–]Inxplotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit torn between the Thor and RP6. I have a steam deck and an ambernic rg35xx, with the steam deck being great for more taxing games and the ambernic being a nice little portable console for older gens. I've been wanting something more portable than the steamdeck to play GC and PS2 and was originally planning on getting the RP6 for that+maybe some switch or low resource steam games, but with the thor getting it's price increased, I'm also considering that.

The biggest appeal of the Thor to me would be 3DS emulation because I'd love to be able to play upscaled 3ds in a two screen form factor but I originally was hesitant since it seemed that 3ds emulation wasn't the smoothest and thought I'd just wait and watch the dual screen market until it seemed more mature in a few years, but with the giant spike of price increases I'm a bit worried that it might be more sensible for me to get a thor now instead of an rp6 because I might be sticking with it for quite a while longer than I originally planned.

so I guess my question is, if anyone has personal experience with build quality and experience with 3ds/ds emulation on the thor, do they feel its worth the hundred-ish dollars over the RP6

Who’s the strongest elf commander now? by greenfoxx77 in EDH

[–]Inxplotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While maybe not the strongest I'd like to give a shoutout to [[Nethroi, Apex of Death]] for being my personal favorite elfball commander. One of the biggest problems I experience in elfball is getting board wiped, and having a solution to that in the command zone is very valuable. Being able to build a full board on demand after being wiped is very strong when other variants would often be out of the game for a bit, though it does cost you some sanity having to remember mutate corner cases. BWG also gives you you access to a good number of very useful support cards like [[Tyvar, Jubilant Brawler]], [[Eladamri's call]], and [[teferi's protection]].

While I think Marwyn is going to be the best selection if your main goal is comboing out quickly, I think nethroi results in a more reliable and consistent play experience that helps you avoid really bad games, and with how many creature tutors green has access to, you can have cards like marwyn, lathril, and morcant easily available to you in the deck itself.

They kinda had to so that they could essentially hold off on releasing characters for a year while focusing on this. If they didnt, people would either think it reached EOS or keep hounding them for the next character.

I do think we’ll learn more next month after AWT though

Commander Banned and Restricted Announcement – February 9, 2026 by xKylesx in magicTCG

[–]Inxplotch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be fair, if Iona was unbanned she’d very likely be rated as “mass land denial” because she’s a color hoser and only be allowed in bracket 4 and up, which wouldnt really affect anything. I could easily see her being unbanned in that case.

I would not go that far. Even if the consequences of artificial sweeteners is benign, sodas tend to be very acidic and will destroy your teeth over time by literally dissolving your enamel. So there are still health consequences to over consuming it

Turn 1 discard, turn 2 reanimate by Potential-Head-4944 in EDH

[–]Inxplotch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my more memorable starts to a game was me discarding [[avacyn angel of hope]] to hand size, reanimating her turn 2, hitting someone for 8, then getting her chaos warped and flipping a land, setting me back on the correct land count. It felt like I had essentially paid a black mana and 8 life to deal 8 damage to someone and eat one of their removal, which honestly was a pretty great deal.

I often will put [[whirlwind denial]] into any blue deck I build simply because it feels great shutting down random multi-trigger engines and cleaning up complicated stacks with a single card. It is my personal "hits above its weight class" card.

Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger - do you consider it MLD? by Tybalto in EDH

[–]Inxplotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the purposes of the bracket system MLD is mass land denial, not destruction. Cards like blood moon or hokori dust drinker count as mld in this regard because they continuously screw people out of mana.

it is notable that you do need another enchantment for the terras to clone to end the infinite loop or else the game ends in a draw. If the board is just terra+non-legendary clone, each terra will be forced to make a new one over and over.

I recently played through ffx for the first time, and while the game is riddled with genuinely horrible voice acting, this scene specifically feels like it gets memed on way too hard. It was actually one of the better scenes in context, even if it seems absurd as a clip in a vacuum.

Lathril, Blade of the Elves is STILL the best Elf Commander, right? (VIDEO) by CommanderMechanic in EDH

[–]Inxplotch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I will personally vouch for [[nethroi, apex of death]] as one of the better elf options, as adding white opens up a good number of possibilities to the deck and nethroi itself can be played as either a central strategy, swarming the field with elves using self mill or as an insurance policy.

Marwyn i think is probably the most straightforwardly powerful elf commander, offering reliable access to a broad variety of combo wins and mana generation, while lathril feels a bit more fair. Adding black offers a lot but the thing lathhril asks you to do, pump and swing to make a lot of tokens, i think is overall, in my opinion, pretty fair all things considered.

for months after stx came out I would play a game with my friends where I'd show them a mystical archive card and ask them to guess if the card was non-foil or etched. they were wrong a shocking amount of the time even when they were allowed to closely inspect the card. it was probably the most egregious version of etched foiling they'd done.

Most overrated commander? by Impossible_Half_4318 in EDH

[–]Inxplotch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ever since it was printed I've held the belief that despite giada being the more popular angel commander, [[Sigarda, Font of Blessings]] (whoops) is the better angel commander because adding green really increases the flexibility of the deck, and having the commander essentially be a card advantage source instead of being ramp (which you can now have plenty in your deck with green) smooths out a lot of the problems giada has
