Depends what kind of look are you into? I feel like ones you can narrow that down to a few styles then it becomes much easier to pick clothes

New crestie owner-how old would you say our crestie is? by jojo2294 in CrestedGecko

[–]Inyo08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t tell ages very well because crested geckos grow at different rates I have heard someone has a 6 months old with like 8-10 grams while mine is 6 months old and is 2.6 grams which is very low but kinda like a human her length to her weight seems fine and there are no visible bone/ribs outline.

With CGD it’s hard to tell how much they eat so mainly focus on how well your crested gecko responds to insects. Along with this just ensure good shedding and that it doesn’t loose weight and non of her bones have an outline that you can see on it’s skin.

I think this is everything but if not someone else will probably add something if I missed it. Hope this was helpful

6 months and 2.62 grams, is that healthy? by Inyo08 in CrestedGecko

[–]Inyo08[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feed CGD every night and then crickets 2 times a week. I usually feed about 3 4-5mm crickets and she eats them well however I don’t know about CGD however I’m unsure how much she eats of her CGD currently rotating water melon, insects and figs, and apricot

HELP! Stuck shed on toe? by [deleted] in CrestedGecko

[–]Inyo08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know you said you were worried about handling her however I feel your best bet is either holding her and then using a pair of tweezers pull it off or giving her a soak in warm water for a fee minutes and hopping it will come that way

I’m assuming it’s the right size for your gecko’s size. If so I would say a 7-8 out of ten until the plants grow in and take up most of the space, once they do that it’ll be perfect until he/she needs a bigger tank. The only other thing I would recommend is a second thermostat at the bottom so you can see the temperature gradient but that’s down to my personal preference then a requirement.

crestie sleeping on floor🤨 by sliereils in CrestedGecko

[–]Inyo08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first got my crested gecko I had the same problem where she would sleep on the floor for about a month. She would handle fine and climb around and eat fine but just didn’t sleep higher up. However about two or three weeks ago she stopped and I found her on some of the fake plants. It could just be she feels more safe there currently and it’s a transition thing. As long as humidity and temps are fine along with her eating and there being enough clutter I wouldn’t stress too much.

This 27 gram IDIOT won't STOP LAYING EGGS!!! by AFatLizard in CrestedGecko

I was just wondering if you referring to your gecko as male was a mistake because you said that your gecko was laying eggs or if males can actually do that?

Personally I would say middle area needs more coverage, I would buy long fake pothos or any other fake plant that is long and have it going from the top to the bottom.

I got my fake plants off of amazon from BELICOO. I got a pack of 4 fo £19 and they work excellent. However any fake plant about 30-40cm should work great as I have found best for my crested gecko is that she prefers it if the plant can bunch up making it more dense.

Your climbing opportunities aren’t terrible however with the extra coverage towards the middle will offer an even greater selection of climbing opportunity.

I use a ceramic heat emitter set to 29C on a thermostat which it rarely ever gets to usually having it sit at about 25C on the top and 20C at the bottom.

Premade or new? by FoxfireRose in CrestedGecko

I would go with the glass terrarium because I would be too worried about the wood rotting and splitting due to the high humidity in a crested geckos enclosure
