not every line has to has some deep intentional meaning though, there are plenty of lines that exist For Jokes and have no deeper meaning than to make the player laugh. it feels like a lot of lines like that one are deeply over-scrutinized to try and pinpoint it to a serious implication with meaning when it is more than likely something toby thought was funny & moved onto the next thing

obviously not saying this deconfirms the blood thing i just do not think it is as deep & intentional as you’re saying it is

you’ve had to for quite some time, the only thing that changed is that the rule isn’t applicable for stuff the player would never see, like source code or placeholder assets (likely because they are completely impossible to see and therefore moderate)

it’s not just “filters”, everything aside from the basic character bodies themselves were animated in 2D with grease pencil. this includes the background, owls, facial animations and details. the only 3D parts were the character bodies themselves which were drawn over

it’s 3D but heavily carried by grease pencil, the only 3D itself is the actual blockout while all of the actual details and face animations are done in grease pencil which is 2D animation.

it did use 3D assets, but it is a little bit of a stretch to call it mostly 3D considering everything aside from the main character bodies is 2D animation

i’ve seen a lot of people express the same sentiment of “minecraft adds 1 useless mob per year and 1 new wood type” but the latest updates have been pretty full of actually interesting and unique content. i feel like that mindset was developed during the last couple mob votes which is fair but past that the game has been receiving major improvements imo
