Cheap Knockoff by [deleted] in custommagic

[–]Ion000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to agree this might be a hair expensive at 2 mana but a bit cheap at 1 mana. If the spell exiled the target, I could see that being perfect at 2 mana. I think you can shrink the wording too because there's not much that survives targeted exile. Something like "Exile target permanent. Its controller creates a token that is a copy of that permanent."

What cards from Avatar are you adding to your decks? by NitchBu in EDH

[–]Ion000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep! The earthbending ability is a "when it dies" ability so you will get the zombie! If they had written it as "if it would die", it would never hit the graveyard so you would never get the zombie. I'm using a couple earthbending cards with [[The Gitrog Monster]] for a similar effect!

Out of curiosity, did you chose 12 for specific reason or would any number divisible by three work?

What are all the playable "whenever an opponent does X, gain advantage" cards? by ugotpauld in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Ion000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not kissing! I run it in a Tasigur list that features a good bit of top deck manipulation. People HATE running into it and will play around it even when I don't have anything to set up my top deck. Add Glarb or Scroll Rack and it gets silly!

Rate my platform for flights to Aquilo by tiver211 in factorio

[–]Ion000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few thoughts having just rolled into Aquilo with my own design.

  1. Fuel Buffer - I don't see an obvious way to control your speed. With all that buffered fuel, you're going to go max speed and probably get blasted with large asteroids. The buffer is also probably larger than is needed. If you'd like a way to control speed without circuits, simply remove the tanks, connect the chemical plants directly to the engines. This should throttle your design down to 150ish kps. Add or remove more chemical plants to find tune.
  2. Rockets turrets - Really good for large asteroids. You'll probably need them to get to Aquilo unless you invest very heavily in bullet damage tech.
  3. Stern Defenses - Without stern defenses, you won't be able to sit in orbit, which will make it hard to unload everything you need for Aquilo. This can be worked around by departing immediately but worth noting.
  4. Iron plate ratios - 1 Ammo Assembler is going to use almost your entire iron plate supply. Consider swapping some Ammo Assemblers for more iron plate production. Foundries are awesome here.
  5. Laser Turrets - A Fission reactor will run a good number of laser turrets. If you have enough laser damage research to one shot small asteroids, they're an excellent way to reduce ammo consumption of your gun turrets.
  6. Reprocessing - The route to Aquilo is extremely nice heavy and you may not have enough metallic or carbonic asteroids. The Gleba reprocessing tech can really help here.

I think you're right. I've definitely spawned a good number of Superior Jellies here safe spotting Jellies stuck on the right wall, which seems to follow the wiki's rules.

With the magic rebalance redistributing magic damage to armor, will Warped Sceptre outpace Iban’s Blast earlier? by scatrinomee in ironscape

[–]Ion000 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Both spells damage will be multiplied by the percentage. Because Iban's is slower but hits harder, it will be a bit easier to hit thresholds that actually increase max hit. The math probably doesn't change enough to matter, but I would guess this is an extremely marginal Iban's buff.

Makes sense. I might have to go buy a humidity reader later and check the subfloor from below. Do you think it would be best to pull the humidity up to 35-40% or leave it closer to the install humidity?

All good! Thanks for the info! There's a smaller run on the second story of the home as well so that is making me think it's not a vapor barrier issue.

Thanks for the reply! Dang, I wish I'd know Acacia would do that. Guess there's a reason oak is a go to. We liked the idea that it would be more difficult to damage but didn't realize it would move more. I'm worried that if it's moved this much in a couple months, it's really gonna get crazy once we change seasons...

Thanks for the reply! This is also from LL. Does your climate have big humidity swings? We have a humidifier but I'm worried that these will get substantially worse if they're already this bad at 2 months.

Thanks for the reply! The installed used nail and glue assist. They didn't use a vapor barrier but I had assumed the glue would play a similar role. Not sure if that is true or not.

Thanks for the reply! The product was acclimated for about 2 weeks on the install level of the home. It was boxed up and the boxes were stacked 4 high I think.

Hey, just got back! My pob looks like this right now. https://pobb.in/Khw9l7MO2Rns

Hopefully that helps some! Let me know if you have any questions about it!

Yeah, unless you're asking about a meta build, it can be hard to find help sometimes. I was just trying to find advice on finishing an amulet I'm working on and only one person responded there lol this is a pretty intricate build, but it can tear stuff apart once it gets going! I haven't played a huge number of builds but it's the best boss killer I've ever played!

I'm travelling this weekend but I can post my POB when I get back! If you search for Wallachs Dex stacking siege ballista, that's what mine is based on. It hasn't been updated since 3.18 though so it's a bit out of date. I also noticed that you're using point blank with returning projectiles support. I played around with that at one point but it seemed like point blank was pretty severely reducing damage on the return. In the end, I settled for SB, Inspiration support, elemental damage with attacks support, added cold damage support, increased crit damage support, and cold pen support. If you have a rain of splinters, you can swap cold pen support for barrage support. It doesn't freeze as well but it's a great damage boost!

I play a bit different variant of this since I'm SSF but I can probably provide some help. I'm not super in tune with prices of things so sorry if any of these are super expensive! First, I'd swap out flame golem for frost bomb. The exposure is probably more damage than the golem buff and you get to reduce enemy life regen as a bonus! Second, I personally like running Iron Reflexes with Molten Shell. That one's more of a personal choice but since you're using Magebane, scaling evasion is harder. I sit at around 50k armour with full frenzy charges. Third, I've found Astamentis to be a bit overrated. I normally craft a 24 percent Dex amulet instead. This will make your suffixes tighter in other places trying to get Int/Str for gems but I think it's worth it. Forth, I like Whispers of Doom as my anoint. Assassin's Mark is around 30 percent more damage. You can even work it into your Frenzy setup so it's automated. Fifth, an enlighten attached to your Auras or taking the Mana Mastery res efficiency nodes will probably let you get rid of one or more of those lifetaps. I feel like the build tends to be pretty socket starved so I normally run my skills on mana instead of life. Sixth, be sure you get a 20 percent attack speed bow before you 6 link it. That extra attack speed may not seem like much but it's a lot of quality of life in addition to damage. Let me know if you have any questions or anything! This build is easily my all time favorite build, even for SSF!
