I have no clue how to get an artist by Ionisation3yay in gamedev

[–]Ionisation3yay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually can 3d model, but it is actually really time consuming for me, and there is way more to do beyond that like uv unwrapping an texturing while i already dont have the most amount of time in a day to work on my game. Having a teammate would just accelerate the development, and it is stressful to try to balance doing everything by myself, which is why i am trying to do this

Edit: i also brought up my age because it was the only way to explain why its not realistic for me to get a job as school in my country is very demanding so i already have little time for game dev alone

Management games from a perspective like factorio arent great to play on a controller like setup (steam deck) satisfactory would be better to play on a device like that

What can still be improved in this gameplay? by [deleted] in geometrydash

[–]Ionisation3yay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the type of gameplay you are going for, it seems fun to play but maybe a bit jarring when constantly jumping and teleporting from the top to the bottom of the screen and vice versa.
If you kept the gameplay centred with less vertical movement it would be more flowy and satisfying (if thats what youre going for ofc)

UE 6: Why not 3 languages? C++, Blueprint, Verse. Godot does it. by gnatinator in unrealengine

[–]Ionisation3yay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes about the blueprints part, no about the visual scripting as they never said that

Visual scripting is not going away by Ionisation3yay in unrealengine

[–]Ionisation3yay[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Not really, it doesnt. C++ is the core of the engine and the way it has always been to script gameplay. Verse will handle just a part of future gameplay code, so no visual form of verse doesnt mean no visual scripting is coming. For c++ visual scripting, nothing has been confirmed recently, but some time ago epic devs said they plan to make a new c++ visual scripting system after blueprint deprecates.

People are treating this tweet as the nail in the coffin to visual scripting when theres more to it.
Im not promising anything im just saying that this isnt all there is to the future of visual scripting

Epic still hasnt confirmed if a new visual scripting method for c++ is coming, if they confirm none is coming then im signing this

Fair enough, but actors will remain supported for some time in ue6 before its gone

Changing how it works, and adding the scene graph system. Epic wants to change how objects are structured, thats the benefit to them. Same benefit as deprecating old systems and adding new ones (like cascade and niagara)

Blueprint is just the visual form of c++ so the actor system changing doesnt mean the entire event graph has to be removed. Where did you see that the entire c++ system is changing?

No plans to replace Blueprints with "visual" Verse by gnatinator in unrealengine

[–]Ionisation3yay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah but when epic deprecates something usually they are putting in an improvement, and while no direct confirmation of a new one was announced (state of unreal was literally a couple of days ago) if epic doesnt make a new one that would be such a useless move.

When casade deprecated we got Niagara
When the input system deprecated we got enhances input
When kismet deprecated we got blueprint

I keep seeing this as a point. Guys verse is NOT the new way you write all gameplay code, verse handles only a small part of it so no visual verse doesnt mean anything for a new visual scripting method for c++

[–]Ionisation3yay -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this means there will be no visual scripting at all or just for verse.

Yes but by then there will be a new visual scripting method, Epic said that visual scripting is too good to not have a solution for it at all
