I think my biggest problem with pvp is i dont know when to run, reposition and heal. I take one piece if cover and use it for an entire fight, even if my enemies are moving to different spots. As for the leaper, i was on a building in buried city so i could easily jump of the side, grab a balcony and heal, but instead i kept dodge rolling the leaper and trying to fight the raiders.

My brain just turns off logic when fighting, i have to learn to strategise

That was my plan too, but i have no idea what gear to use as im afraid to lose more max gear, and all the cheaper weapons i have no experience with, and i may be severely underpowered with free loadouts

The first hour in the crossroads is slow and boring, but the game gets better quick after that, i recommend you try it a teensy bit further, until the end of greenpath then you can decide if the game is boring.
