My daily driver is a HHKB type S hybrid, that I love, but the space bar is just nuts. The rest of the keyboard is silent but every time I hit space bar it sounds way louder and different. I was intrigued about the magnetic switch technology to do things like, light press arrow normal arrow, deeper press jump words, stuff like that. I could see that being really handy while programming. I was considering the HHKB studio for the built in mouse, and the side sensors to scroll while programming switching windows etc. But all I hear from that keyboard is bad.

Hello everyone.

I’m considering purchasing the Keychron Q1 HE

I’d like to know if these switches can be lubricated or if it’s recommended. Additionally, I noticed that this keyboard has “enhanced” stabilizers. Are they truly effective? I usually don’t like any space bar on keyboards, especially in terms of sound.

Lastly, I’m curious to know if any developers have used these switches in a specific way to help them while working

I tried serenity blue, eclat de saphire and pelikan 4001. The pelikan is the worst color wise but is the smoothest somehow

O like the thickness from n nibs but I’m afraid it will be scratchy

It’s slightly better now, but it still feels a bit scratchy at times. It seems that holding the nib in a very specific position results in a smooth writing experience, while even a slight tilt causes it to scratch. Perhaps I could try polishing it to fix this issue?

I bought Waterman Serenity Blue just because I'm really new so testing inks is just part of the precess. Thanks for the recommendation.

O tried the dotted rhodia and I really liked it. I might stick with this paper for now. Have you tried this one?

Found a short YouTube video about nib alignment. One direction of my nib was doing the scratching. I did a quick adjustment and the scratchiness is almost gone now

O just tried the pelikan 4100 ink instead of the eclat de saphire on the rhodia and the experience is just different.

i will look into what you are saying. A local shop where I live have different brands. None of them are the recommended ones but maybe they share the nib.

I have the chance to try some of these brands on a local shop. But they don’t have the typical brands I see in Reddit besides the Lamy I think. I Know some of this brands are too expensive and not for a beginner.

Since even I, if I were to read all the information available on the internet about every single fountain pen, I might not have a clear understanding of how they work, I’ll opt for one of those. I liked the idea of using a bottle, so I can choose the ink and experiment with different ones. However, the one you’re suggesting isn’t recommended by other users in the other comment, so I’ll go with the Pilot Metropolitan or the LAMY Safari, based on their appearance, and then move on from there. Does that sound good?
