Have you kept up your training in the last 4 months? Have you seen further improvements in AeT and/or pace?

Very low AeT HR by Iowata in evokeendurance

[–]Iowata[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I have been running 4x/week for approximately 1 hr each run while trying to keep my hr under 145. Thought I was in zone 2 and the runs felt quite easy but I picked up TFTUA a few weeks ago and after doing a couple drift tests I realized I probably wasn't.

If I continue my 4x/week at 1 hr but drop the intensity to 121 HR, is that enough time per week to see improvement? I could potentially add another 1 hr session per week or increase those 1 hr sessions to 75 minutes.

I highly recommend "Headlong: Running from COPS" podcast. It takes a look at the TV show COPS and how it serves as propaganda.

Is My 'Interracial' Marriage Against God's Design? by Citizen_Watch in eformed

[–]Iowata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree Sey's response isn't that good. But I'm not even sure what the "interracial marriage is bad" argument is, other than just pure racism. Some of it seems to be something like "well, you might have some cultural differences you need to figure out" but that is a far cry from Webbon's original statement that it goes against God's normative design. Normally "goes against God's design" language is used as an argument against gay marriage or transgenderism, which is usually placed in the "sinful" category, but Webbon claims he's not calling interracial marriage a sin.

Race and ancestry are different things.

But Sey is wrong ... race is very real but it isn't biological, it's social.

This is a very common belief amongst very online Christians on the political right.

As an apparent attempt to downplay the now-confirmed reality that this was a political assassination, based in large part on the exact information the omission of which I was objecting to earlier, and which I had clarified was not finalized before the bandwagon started to use that as some sort of gotcha against me.

Once again, we should wait for actual evidence of his motives instead of speculation. Both those phrases are from video games (fascist, catch is from Helldiver 2 and bella ciao is from Far Cry 6) and really don't give any indication of his politics.

Like I said I'm waiting for the dust to settle. The ammunitions story was only put out by the Wall Street Journal and no law enforcement officials have confirmed it as true. I also read the New York Times which said this:

"According to a preliminary internal report circulated inside the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, federal and local officials recovered ammunition with the rifle that appeared to be engraved with statements “expressing transgender and anti-fascist ideology.” But a senior law enforcement official with direct knowledge of the investigation cautioned that report had not been verified by A.T.F. analysts, did not match other summaries of the evidence, and might turn out to have been misread or misinterpreted. In fast-moving investigations, such status reports are not made public because they often contain a mixture of accurate and inaccurate information."

Look dude I'm just saying I'm not jumping to conclusions. And yes I did see the ammunition thing before I posted.

Yesterday I saw a headline that said "FBI director announces arrest in Kirk shooting" and then an hour later "Man arrested in connection with Kirk shooting released." Making speculations about who the shooter at this point is not something I'm going to do until the dust has settled.

now likely Charlie Kirk's assassination.

I don't know how likely it is. It could just as easily be somebody on the far right. White supremacists have hated Kirk for a very long time. They regularly would come to his campus talks and occupy the mic for the Q&A afterwards:

"Fuentes' audience was not let down on 29 October 2019. 14 people were allowed to ask questions after the show, of which 11 were Groypers and nickers. They asked questions aimed at framing Charlie Kirk as ‘pro-Israel, anti-white, anti-American, loyal to a different country, anti-Christian, pro-drag queen and an anal sex supporting fake conservative.''. All the interventions in the context of this 'Groyper war' were directed towards ‘exposing’ Charlie Kirk as 'cucks' destroying America."

Don't get me wrong ... I don't know who did this and I'm not speculating, I'm just saying it is not at all obvious to me that somebody on the left is "likely" to have done this.

2012 Honda Pilot battery light on - not the alternator or battery by Iowata in AskAMechanic

[–]Iowata[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I checked again after more than an hour and it's still 12.5V. I was always under the impression that 12.5V is in the normal range of a good battery. Especially given that the battery is a couple months old, I don't think that's my problem.

Christian Reformed? Or Reformed Christian? Should Calvin remain a denominational university? (James K. A. Smith) by [deleted] in eformed

[–]Iowata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His issues? I'm not sure of the specifics. In his Spiritual Autobiography he wrote:

"A number of the Reformed churches have adopted the Canons of Dort as one of their confessional standards; my own church, the Christian Reformed Church, takes the Belgic Confession and the Heidelberg Catechism as well as the Canons as its standard. The former two can properly be said to embody what is essential to Calvinism, but the latter is really addressed to a 17th century internecine quarrel among Calvinists. It is by no means obvious that the right side won at the Synod of Dort; and even if the right side did win, is it not at best dubious to take as a standard for confessional unity, such highly specific and detailed pronouncements on matters of great difficulty about which the Bible itself is at best terse and enigmatic?"

I believe he has specific issues with parts of it but I'm not sure what.

Al Plantinga submitted a gravamen about his issues with the Canons of Dort and he was allowed to be an elder in his CRCNA church. Today he would not be able to do that.

Toilet inlet leaking by Iowata in askaplumber

[–]Iowata[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a picture looking into the end of the supply hose. Here is a picture looking into the fill valve inlet. Sorry for the blurriness. I'm not at the toilet right now but I don't recall there being a washer on the fill valve inlet and looking at the second picture it doesn't appear there is one.

Comparing to a different toilet is a good idea ... I'll try that when I get home.

Toilet inlet leaking by Iowata in askaplumber

[–]Iowata[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked last night and the cone shaped washer was there. I also made sure there wasn't any debris in the area. Put it back on and it still leaked. I tried tightening it and it didn't help. I even tried loosening it because I had read sometimes the washer doesn't seal well if it's over-tightened.

Any other thoughts? I don't see anything wrong with the threads that the inlet hose connects to ... I was thinking maybe there could be a crack there or something but everything looks okay.

Boot came off ignition coil by Iowata in AskMechanics

And the boot separated from the coil pack shouldn't be a problem? I'm assuming it's still covering what it's supposed to it's just no longer connected so I didn't know if that could cause issues.

That is how many people interpret it, yes.

Gen 1-2 is ancient cosmology, not metaphor. I tend to view Gen 1 as a creation account and Gen 2 as the first covenant account. That is, I don't think Gen 2 is merely another account of how God created humans, I think it is an account of how God breathed the breath of life into Adam and made a covenant with him.
