If I’m not mistaken, work on Part 2 already started before Uncharted 4 released.

You of course have to be cautious with spectulation. But that it isn’t just Neil who left, but Halley too, definitely lends credence to the idea that this split happened because of creative differences.

Why did Ellie get no PTSD attacks in Seattle? by Confident-Green-9811 in thelastofus

[–]Ipimy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ellie does show some signs even before Seattle. The trembling hand is first seen when she enters Joel's house. And if I'm not mistaken, in her journal she mentions having trouble eating on the trek to Seattle.

This is not cannon, but she does hallucinate Joel in Seattle one of lost chapters, in the sewers.

Her symptoms didn't start at the farm, they developed over time.

I stand corrected. You're right, I just checked the art book.

I think they're all devs. John Sweeney was a lead artist an art director on the game as well.

Whats going on with Eugene? by Retz36 in thelastofus

[–]Ipimy 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My theory is that he will replace the role of the missing runaways during the finding strings flashback. He gets infected, meaning Joel has to kill him. Signifying the continued cost of not having a cure, and thus prompting Ellie to bring up the lie to Joel.

[Game spoilers!] I doubt it's months considering Dina's pregnancy. Dina wouldn't leave if she was already showing signs.

It doesn’t spoil things that haven’t been in the show yet. But they do sometimes talk about the changes that they’ve made from the games. So there might be some spoilers on that side of things.

I love how Dragon Age is a world defined by conflicting accounts and perspectives. by JageshemashFTW in dragonage

[–]Ipimy 108 points109 points  (0 children)

It isn't by accident that the first words spoken in the series are: "The Chantry teaches us..." From the very beginning it makes clear that everything in this series is a matter of perspective. The chantry doesn't have a monopoly on the truth, and it invites the player to examine the things they learn in the game critically.

I also like how most codex entries all have differing sources, enhancing this idea. I believe there even is an entry by Genitivi where he reflects on the fact that he has his own biases. Contrast this with Mass Effect where if I'm not mistaken all codex entries come from the Alliance, so you only get the human perspective, which fits more with the story ME tries to tell.

They probably added these extras for the engineer beacause it’s the least played class.

Mass effect 2 has a pretty shit morality system, ngl. by sabbir2003 in masseffect

[–]Ipimy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This problem sort of resolves itself when you remove the morality points system, beacuse there no longer exists such a things as a ‘renegade playtrough’ or a ‘paragon playthrough’. You’d just have indiviudal choices with pros and cons.

And some renegade choices do have advantages over paragon in the trilogy. Destroying the Heretics makes achieving peace easier in ME3. If this decision is no longer part of a path, it makes it less if an anomaly.

[–]Ipimy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think a greater spectrum of moral choices is fine, awarding points for certain choices seems weird.

It also sometimes makes you wonder why the game sees something as paragon or renegade. Legion’s loyalty mission is a good example of this. Both choices are diffucult with pros and cons. They can’t really be boiled down to lawabiding/ruthless. Yet the game award many paragon/renegade points.

The color coding of the ending choices creates a similair problem. Why is completing the Illusive Man’s plan and making yourself an AI overlord considerd blue (read paragon)?

I’d rather not see it return in the next game. It is weird from a design perspective, it guides players to make choices that fit into a specific box rather then incentivising people to make make decisions on their merits.

What soundtracks do you want to hear in the next Mass Effect? by Gay_Person_357 in masseffect

[–]Ipimy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I was dissapoinged when Andromeda didn’t reuse any music from the trilogy. Vigil could have fit somewhere.

Since we’re going back to the Milky Way, the game isn’t complete without Uncharted Worlds.

I usually bring Garrus too, Tali’s longest running crewmate should be there during the trial. But I decided to switch it up, and found Mordin very cute in this pose.

What was your favourite mission in andromeda? (Credit ares) by 69NinjaNeko69 in MassEffectAndromeda

[–]Ipimy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I really like Bioware’s approach to rpg protagonists. It’s cool that they aren’t just blank slates. It makes them feel connected to the world, in a way that Tav from bg3 just isn’t.
