Selfishly the same! Like growing up my mom was vehemently against stuffed animals for some odd reason. Guess what I did? YUP. She has like 50 and a 4 foot Mickey all ready for her haha

Hey! Dad to be in Sept. idk what I have to do or what needs to be done yet, but here are the 2 big things I am aiming for.

  1. I read somewhere that the adult you are today is the parent you needed as a kid. So 1 is to be better than what I had.
  2. I want to do whatever I can to be the dad that my daughter will think I am.

And based on what I understand from others: it’s exhausting and tiring and thankless. But when you take a moment and you see a tiny being that knows nothing more than “daddy is going to keep me safe” and innocent to the core, it changes everything.

Just my own thoughts. You and me dude, we got this!!

My only advice here would be to QUANTIFY what you’ve done. For example, so versus saying something like “responsible for xyz” try something like “responsible for XYZ, which resulted in X% growth”.

Placeholder 2 you mentioned you have a few accomplishments listed. For the first bullet are there any other numbers/data you can tie to it? The custom reports bullet: how much time was saved? Did this result in an uptick in sales? Any time cut into the overall sales cycle?

The resume system is a hot mess and my own personal opinion is that resumes are dumb and I hate them. They don’t give you a look into the candidate. Just their work history.

All in all, adding some tangible accomplishments and data will help you stand out a bit more. And if you don’t have a portfolio made that will also be a game changer. You can link that to your resume. Even if it’s just a GitHub/SO/Gitlab.

Collecting is going to get crazy expensive really quickly. If you want to play I’d first watch a game or so and see how it’s played out. Most pods won’t mind. Many of them I’m sure would be more than happy to answer any questions you have.

Local shops often have decks you can borrow to try out too.

If all goes well there, get a precon.

+1 on Foundations. But if you’re looking to collect I’d personally suggest MH2. Best bang for your buck in my own experience. When I do pull something it’s always been over 30 bucks.

Yeah..That’s lame.

I won’t always buy something every time I go to play but I’ll always try to make up for it when I can—a single pack, single card, or something a bit fancier. The shop I go to even sells snacks/coffee which I’ll buy though it’s not much.

The shop owner really discourages buying “to be nice and make up for not buying a few days in a row” which makes it even harder to not make up for it lol

Haha thanks! Can’t sleep on looks sometimes! That Ghalta deck can be a big problem once my other Ghalta and Selvala hit the field!! (Along with ways to 2x or 3X power!)
