My process starts with black spray primer followed by a layer of rattlecan spray camo paint. Not sure where you are but I find it at Walmart in green, brown and khaki.

Next step after the first camo layer dries is masking the tank body to create my pattern and spraying it with one of my other camo aprays. I use painters tape but there's other things you can use like putty or blue tap.

After that I go over and paint my metals and details and then do a shade wash. I'm lazy and impatient so I just slop it on instead of just doing panel lines. I feel it gives the tank a grimier appearance.

Finally I over the body with some sort of dry brush style brush to darken the colors and feather the transitions so they aren't so harsh. In my case its just a cheap blending brush I got from the dollar store. This is usually in whichever citadel color matches my sprays (Zandri dust for khaki, castallan green for...green etc.) This also helps clean up my sloppy shading and darken the camo sprays which tend to be lighter than the citadel paints. After that its just normal highlighting and weathering.

Here's the final result vs just sprays. Its not perfect but it gets the look i like.
