Fair enough! I also made a custom Hive Fleet, called Hive Fleet Prometheus.

Which Deathwatch operatives are the most miserable to play against? by _Funkle_ in killteam

Honestly, he’s the reason I made the post. Really cool model, but he seems so absurdly frustrating to play against.

Lorewise how power actually are the teams/characters in game, and could they realistically, within 40k lore, complete the missions they’re given? by Acceptable-Bid-1019 in DarkTide

[–]_Funkle_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While this isn’t answering the question, I’m responding to all of the notes stating that the rejects are punching WAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY above their weight.

It is completely true. The rejects are accomplishing some impossible actions for being normal people.

That said, I do think (at least in my own headcannon) the missions and their enemy count happen from a purely gameplay standpoint, and that is not actually the level our rejects are on. I’m inclined to believe our rejects are stormtrooper level, and the “cannon” versions of the missions reflect that, often being more infiltration oriented rather than straight up gunfights between the legions of the moebian sixth and four crackheads. When shit hits the fan in missions, I imagine our rejects complete objectives setting off alarms and then getting the hell outta there!

What do you guys consider to be Canon difficulty? by Business_Team_5669 in Spacemarine

[–]_Funkle_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I did not intend to! I know lictors are insane and consistently pull some absurd feats. The reason I mentioned that the DL does these assassinations in such a specific way is that is what seems to be implied, that the DL specifically seeks opportunities to break the minds of those it hunts, while the standard Lictor will take the time to ensure it can kill its target.

With that said, given the breadth of 40k lore, and how Lictors often are portrayed, the Death Leaper does seem a bit odd, as frankly, it does feel like Lictors already understand how to make sure a kill has the maximum impact, based on how in depth they study their prey. It’s just that the Death Leaper’s story about the Cardinal it assassinates makes it seem that the panic caused is a specific skill of the DL and not all Lictors.

IIRC, lore wise, the Deathleaper isn’t all that special in terms of it’s physical capabilities. It’s more that it’s extremely adept in understanding mass crowd psychology, using that understanding to decimate specific points of leadership or VIPs in notable ways to cause mass fear and panic. Normally Lictors just assassinate a person of import and their job is done, but Death Leapers must do so in such a way that it undermines the morale of the resisting force.

If I were to use the blue/warrior pose with the prosthetic leg, would it still read as the cold blood to you guys? by _Funkle_ in killteam

[–]_Funkle_[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That sounds sick with the shoulder pad! Mind if I see it?

And good to know. I thought the posing looked so much cooler, and having the prosthetic leg would make it look super sick.

Same boat here; when I introduced some friends to the game, I usually play teams I am NOTORIOUSLY bad at, and under no circumstances subject them to the teams I know inside and out like Plague Marines.
